Victory Records (http://www.victoryrecords.com) have signed Connecticut metal band Emmure (http://www.myspace.com/emmure). The band will head into the studio late November / early December to record a new full length. Their EP The Complete Guide To Needlework will still see a release through This City is Burning Records and will be available online and at select Hot Topics across the United States.

Victory will sign anyone these days. they are trying to show that they are keeping their heads above water after HH sued them. Oh well...just another shit metalcore band FOR FANS OF POISON THE WELL, XHEARTSXBLEEDX and ATREYU...shit band, shit label.

I miss when I would buy almost anything Victory put out (Reach the Sky, Grade, Hatebreed, Refused, Earth Crisis and so on). This label has gone to shit.

We actually have a good scene for that sound. With honor is a fine example as well as risk taken and 100 demons

When did Victory release anything by Refused? I thought it was all Epitaph and/or Burning Heart. Maybe you confused them with Snapcase?

my band played with these guys and stayed at our old singers house for 3 or 4 days. i'm assuming this signing has something to do with endwell who was touring with them when endwell got signed to victory. i hear they're good friends.

Victory released Songs To Fuel The Flames Of Discontent originally.

I'm sure they pissed Refused off, so they left

all you fucking shitheads talking smack about this band are a bunch of idiots, not only because they make great metal music, but they put more fucking time and effort into their band than anyone I've ever seen.

fuck you if you can't respect that.

After all this negative publicity, I don't feel bad for the bands when their music doesn't sell with people hating this label so damn much. I'd run away from the phone if I saw that it read "Victory" or "Brummel" like a single mother runs away from creditors.

in an interview with buddyhead from many many years ago kristofer steen talked about how they never saw any money from victory after the album was released. however, he also went on to say it was like that with most american labels that released their stuff; because back then, they were nowhere near as large in popularity as they became post-breakup, so they weren't bestsellers on the foreign labels.

my challenge to anyone on here...

start managing a band and try to get them signed to a label. hell, start by pitching them to victory. see how far you get and youll realize just how hard it actually is to get a band signed.

you all (y'all for you soco kids) think the music industry is easy these days now that message boards exist.

did victory put out defining and incredible records? yes. do they still put out good records? yes (try to say no and ill give you a list of good ones).

name your favorite label... do you REALLY like everything theyve put out?

does victory have a known acct problem? possibly. they are still up and going though so they must be resolving these issues otherwise theyd end up like lookout... literally being forced to call it quits.

but hey what do i know, im just some 20 year old kid without a clue...

no, because if people did, there wouldnt be anything else to listen to but crappy emo and dumb indie music.

good band, shitty label, i wish btbam, comeback kid and darkest hour would leave as well, there are labels out there that treat their bands with more respect than victory

that's pretty good news. victory is sketchy but these guys were really scraping along and it's good they got picked up and signed. they're big around my hometown -- saw them live once and was pretty impressed.

i agree with that. there is a lot more diversity in indie and emo music anyways. you got your typical open chug notes in all these other bands, dont get me wrong there are some good bands but what does this band have to offer thats unique? nothing.

They're ******s who get beat up in their own state. They can't even play shows in CT cause they're banned from the scene.

your all fuckin morons. ive been friends with this band for almost6 years and ive seen how hard theyve worked to get where they are now, they tour like its nobodys buisness, and now theyre signed to one of the most popular labels. jealousy? i think i smell it. and hmm i wonder who has a better scene, CT or NY? i dont give a fuck where your from, no one has a scene like new york. its okay tho, cause theyre gonna be cakin it and making it places while you **** are still sitting behind your computers talking shit. theyre laughin at all of you
