According to Boston writer Tony Maz, Jon Lester who returned to Boston to have his back examined has swollen lymph nodes which can be a sign of cancer. Lester is currently undergoing tests to see if he has cancer.

My dad has swollen lymph nodes and it was just a hereditary thing, it wasn't cancer. There's hope for him. It does suck though, hope he gets well.

Swollen lymph nodes can also be a sign of mono, so I would think that there is only a small chance that Lester has cancer.

well ...its official. lester has lymphoma, a treatable cancer. he starts treatment this week.

what the FUCK happened to the bo sox? god must hate them or something. one second their right in the thick of things to be playing in october, next thing you know, they get fisted by the yankees and its just all downhill from there. this is just terrible, but atleast its treatable. best of wishes to him and his family.

this type of cancer apparently fucks up your reflexes too, so who knows if he'll be able to come back at the level he was at once hes through with chemo.

this is ridiculous.
