I just don't see why you would want a student to write a single-spaced paper. I see 5 pages and get excited, but then realize its single-spaced... so it might as well be 10. And it looks shitty.

Had to do a ton for my fiction class this semester. Hate, hate, hate. One page takes forever to write. But I guess it saves paper.

I write all my papers single-spaced. It's just that sometimes they magically double in length when I'm finished!

I do that too, but I won't be getting that satisfaction here. :-(

Used to do this all the time in college -- oh, I need two pages on this book I read. Oh no, I only have one page done, what can I do?!

Tools - Format - Paragraph

BAM

I never got double spacing, personally I prefer to read single spaced text but that's just me.

I had never heard this argument until I came into this thread, and I've been out of college for multiple years. It makes sense, but who knows.

Single spaced and writing it in 11 pt. font is the greatest thing ever.
