but something tells me I might get screwed over here. From what I've heard on these help forums, I've realized that 1.) A lot of the contest winnings come way after the winner is notified/never, and 2.) Most of these contests are run by third parties.

Well, in this particular case, I would really like to get my winnings soon. I won tickets to the MN date of the Bamboozle Roadshow! I was notified by some guy about a week ago saying I need to reply to that email with my name and phone number to confirm I was the winner and subsequently get my tickets.. I did so immediately, of course. I have yet to receive any reply from this man/group. I would really like this whole transaction to go smoothly. Is there anything anybody can do to help me, or is it all up to fate?

That show is June 10th, right? You have plenty of time to get the tickets. I would recommend emailing that person again and saying that you wanted to make sure that they received your requested response and ask if they could let you know when to expect the tickets. I would also suggest printing off the email that said you were a winner so that you have something in writing.
