I've been thinking about it recently, and I really really hate the NBA. I used to watch it a few years ago while I wore my Toni Kukoc jersey, but now I'm just disgusted by it and I don't know why.

Anybody else hate the NBA.

i hate the officiating in the NBA... and i hate that the celtics have sucked since basically a year after i was born... but thats about it.

I just started watching the NCAA's more and now, by comparison, it sucks. Now I never watch it, and I didn't even watch one game this past season.

NCAA games are so much better than NBA. The players play with so much more conviction and the crowds are so into it. NBA games are way overpriced to go to and the players are all conceited and overpayed.

Very true. Also, the NBA playoffs have nothing on the NCAA tournament.

I like the NBA. I love going to Raptors games as much as Leafs games (probably because its a ton cheaper). It's great to see live.

I dont really think that NCAA regular season is better than the NBA regular season, but i doubt any sports playoff is better than march madness.

Juliana101
08/31/06, 09:57 AM
The NCAA season is better because there's so fewer games, that they all matter. When a team is so far ahead of everybody else in their conference, they tend to stop caring about those games. I think that is part of the reason that I hate it.

They could afford to shorten the season a little more, because it tends to get boring twards the end of the season, there are rarley any good races to make the playoffs.
The rivalries are what make ncaa so good during the regular season. theres alot of crappy boring games in between the good ones imo.

oh god, I wouldn't. I hate watching lazy NBA players just go through the motions to earn a paycheck late in the season or in blowout games. College players know their days are numbered and they play their hearts out far harder than NBA players most of the time.

Yea, i figured i would hear that argument. In boring blowout games in the NBA there is usually a guy or two looking to be a stat stacker though so he will make it intresting. Its just personal prefrence.

I don't find it interesting when everyone clears out just to watch Kobe make fadeaway jumper after jumper, no. I'd rather see well-excecuted offenses than ballhogs taking jumpers every time they touch the ball. I don't know how ANYBODY thinks that kind of stuff is interesting.

selfish, stat-padding basketball is disgusting and when it happens I hate the NBA. When good, fast-paced team ball is played (Phoenix Suns) it's awesome.

Fuck that. If I wanted a SPORT to be entertainment, I'd watch WWE, I'd watch XFL or Arena Football...or I would watch the And 1 Mixtape. This is professional sports, and should reflect professionalism and teamwork instead of watching some ball-hog clear all his teammates out of the way, do stutter-steps for 15 seconds, then fire a fadeaway off the back of the iron. Rinse, and repeat. Bleh.

I refuse to believe that. Personally, thinking that Sports are just entertainment ruins it for me because it means there's no competitive spirit and drive to win with the players - what are we watching it for then? To watch people entertain us? No. I watch because I love to see others do whatever it takes to win, there is no tomorrow, etc, etc...that simply exists way more in college basketball than it does in the NBA.

There are a few teams worth watching that aren't all about that though. Those teams play high-level basketball and make the NBA fun to watch, especially in the playoffs. There are parts I don't like about the NBA but I would never go as far as to say I hated it.

100% agree. at the end of the game, you'll see a college player busting his ass for the last 5 seconds to get the ball back, in the NBA the players will already be shaking hands

Of course. Please explain this to me. Is it because they build a team around a ball dominant guard? Then hey, the Nuggets, Sonics, Sixers, Heat, Rockets, etc. are just a bunch of douche bag franchises too no? How NBA of the Lakers to keep a top 5 player in the league.

The Suns are everything that's wrong with the NBA. A team that's never heard the word defense and gets by by shooting, shooting, and... shooting.

I'd take fast-paced teamwork-oriented offense over a one-man ballhog show any day of the week, defense aside.

Yeah...with an NCAA game being a little shorter it makes it easier...also, with the fans tending to be a little more aggressive in college games, it keeps me interested.

I watch the playoffs and on and off Bulls games, but, college is my thing, more compelling really
