Have you not seen Close Encounters? There's no reason it shouldn't be neck and neck.

I have, and it's phenomenal. Jaws is seminal, though, man. I love both, but it's Jaws.

if it had been best 70s spielberg it would have easily been jaws for me, but 1941 is my favorite. it has so much sentimental value to me.
