Original is the best, but the next games coming out are Pokemon Black & White (Fall for Japan, probably next spring for US), and I will probably get this because since red, blue and yellow I wanted them to do a black and white.

There is a God Pokemon now (Pokemon God?). They have gotten way too metaphysical.
I care not for the newer generations.
And they still haven't made a Legendary more badass than Mewtwo, no matter how hard they try.

I play all the new ones pretty religiously, but I must admit some of the new Pokemon are just too out there at times...like they're trying really really hard to make a bunch of badasses and mix and match types, and most of it is unnecessary.

The 2nd was ok but all the pokemon in the 3rd and 4th are just pathetic.

i voted 1st generation. because that's when i gave a damn. i don't hate it or anything, but i never really did give much of a damn for it. i collected them for the pictures, but never got hooked into the card game.

3 was impeccably strategic and had a much more interesting map/storyline than any of the others, but without all the overkill of the newest generation -- the pokemon were still cool (had plenty of cool type hybrids too) and not just dumb/overly powerful.

yeah so many of the pokemon are SO USELESS, the game is extremely easy, you end up always using the same pokemon that dominate everything else, the storyline is lazy, etc. it was an INCREDIBLE and extremely innovative game when it first came out but come on, the 2nd and 3rd generations obviously improved upon the 1st.

Parasect immediately negates Gen I. Although most people have probably never paid attention to how pathetic most Gen I pokemon are and just focus on Pikachu and the nostalgia of it all.
