I thought their VMA performance was pretty good. Better than I expected. I like this song a lot, too - they are definitely going for the Queen vibe on here. Maybe they'll be like the Darkness, but ya know, better.

It's also very cool of them to release a single nearly 5 minutes long. Besides sounding like Queen, Rob Cavallo really got a Green Day sound out of them, too. It reminds me of something from American Idiot, personally.

Sounds distinctively mcr to me, but at a few points I do agree with you about the green day sound.

I hated the concept, like when they came out and were introduced and shit by that lame video and the skeleton children. This song could be about gay ponies who sell crack laced with anthrax to baby jesus and I would like it, it's about the music for me.

I'm finding the whole rock opera concept tired too. After Green Day's revival of the rock opera, anyone after in my opinion isn't as creative as the original in concept. My exception, Say Anything ... Is A Real Boy, that was my most listened too album for like a year and a true classic in my opinion. No I'm not going to hate on MCR. That Black Parade song stretched their style in a way that I liked. Overall it's a great track. But the question to me is, with their sound in that song so similar to queen, does the band really need to dress like them too...

hmmm..i dont know what to think of this song yet. Ofcourse we all hit it on the nail with the queen-ish sound, but its just "alittle" boring. Its not as in your face like Three Cheers. My hat goes off to them for changing their style though in this scene. It takes guts.

Anyone notice that in the song at !:48 it starts to sound like Blink's "I Wont Be Home For Christmas" for a brief second or two. hahaha

i remember seeing them open for reggie and the full effect and thinking they were the absolute worst band i've ever seen in my life that was actually signed to a record label. But don't get me wrong, they can sound great on CD, and i suppose i somewhat enjoy this song. but don't get it twisted...they suck live and always will.

Yeah they played a couple of new songs at Leeds fest last week and to be honest it didn't come over very well. However, I always thought they weren't suited to the whole huge stage/outdoor performance, since they were also kinda disappointing last year.

It'll be interesting to see how this album comes out.
