i have a 4 piece catalina club kit made by gretsch. i've had it since 07, it's awesome.
it's set up to play pop-punk as you can see. i like to keep it simple & fun! =D

It's cow I believe. Only the finest bovine materials used.
And it is indeed. In honour of the great man following his departure for Underoath. He often makes me wish I could actually play drums haha. One of my new housemates plays so I may steal some time on his kit when we move in in September.

I have a Spaun birch custom kit that was built about 7 years ago...most powerful kick drum I've ever had the honor of playing. Been drumming for about 15 years now, and I'm constantly on the road and in the studio. I can post some pics of the drums a bit later, although a few can be seen under my profile images...I think.
Sweet thread!

Been playin drums for two years. I'll post pics of my piece of shit set later, hopefully getting a new one for my birthday. I mainly play Brand New when I play drums but yeah I can play a lot of shit. Self taught so I'm not really technical in my playing but I'd like to think I'm still pretty good.

My set up is as follows:

I sadly don't have any pictures of my kit, as I don't have one of my own yet. My dad started teaching me when I was about 2 (using Motley Crue and Tom Petty), on a Ludwig Junior set, and later upgraded me to a Pearl set. I stopped playing, but have recently started playing again on a kit up at the church. I'm moving into my own apartment soon, and hope to be getting Ludwig. No idea what kind though.

This is me playing with my band The Case For Treason. http://www.myspace.com/thecasefortreason check it out if you'd like, we just put up two songs from our new demo, plus there some crappy sounding live stuff up there. I like the picture because our guitarist is going crazy but i look completely unimpressed haha.
anyways, its a PDP custom. Got it for $800 used at a local music store. It came with a DW 9000 double pedal, all the hardware, Zildjian K custom ride, K custom crash, and a china which i sold shortly after i got it. So it was a pretty awesome deal. The K custom ride is in the picture but its cracked since then and now i have a Sabian APX ride which sounds phenomenal. i dont think it'll be cracking anytime soon. I've been playing for 6 years and I like my kit set up pretty simple. just one rack tom and one floor tom, one ride and one crash. Pretty straightforward, plus i dont like carrying a lot of stuff around haha.

Yes! Drummers SHOULD unite!
I've been playing for almost 14 years. In high school and college I was in concert, symphonic, marching, and jazz band.
As for my kit I have the Ddrum maple pocket kit: 20x22 kick, 12-14-16 toms, 13x7 snare, but I use my Pearl Chad Smith. Coated Emperors on the toms, clear Ambassadors on bottom, Powerstroke 3 kick batter, Ambassabor kick resonant, Emperor X on the Chad and a Powerstroke 3 on the 13x7 maple snare.
For cymbals I have all Zildjians: 14" ZBT Plus hats (soon to be New Beats!), 16" Avedis crash, 20" Zbt Plus ride (its so old and dirty that it doesn't sound half bad), and a brilliant 21" Sweet Ride. I use an Iron Cobra single, which I would like to update to a DW9000 once I get the moolah. I will post a video I made in Decemeber a little later when I get home.

Mine was a cheap, no name, $200 kit with cheap tin cymbals haha. I just put new remo pinstripes on my kit last week. It hasn't sounded this good in years.

I have to say I like the sound of clear heads more than coated. Your kit looks good though. Except I tried setting my rack tom on a separate stand like that and I hated it. I could never get it in a position I liked.
Live in an apartment and my electronic Yamaha DTXIII is pretty great as a substitute.

Its probably because it seems further away from me than when its mounted on the bass drum. Im kinda short so my arms are short and i can't reach that far lol.

that makes sense, i live to keep mine level with my snare , jut the way i've always done it. on my old kit, i used a snare stand for snare and my tom.

Been drumming about two years, had a basic 5 piece tama rockstar kit. Right now that's on hiatus, because I broke the (cheap and shitty) heads on my bass, snare, and floor tom. I'm what you could call a "passionate" person.

Yeah... Just get coated Remo emperors on your toms, some sorta coated remo on your snare, and an Aquarian Super Kick II for your bass. It'll prolly run you $70+ but they're insanely durable.
What kind of music you play?

It depends on who i'm playing with. I'd say mostly pop punk. But i've been interested in learning some jazz techniques.

Im a musician who has a solo project where I write and record everything, the drum set I was using is no longer available to me, and I was curious..
I don't know much about the brand of certain aspects of a kid, but I use a snare, bass drum, floor tom, and a tom above my snare, with usually a hi hat, and maybe 1-2 cymbals. If i want to get a simple kit, how much do you think that would cost?
