If you're the only target on the team, then the defense puts their best corner on you every time...and Smith still owned it. You think teams didn't know Smith was the go-to guy? Your logic is flawed. You absolutely cannot argue with results - day in and day out he delivered.

How do you stop 85? Add some adversity to the game and he'll disappear quicker than Marvin Harrison in the playoffs.
Steve Smith is better because he can dominate at any depth level on the field, and can return punts. He's also one of the top active playoff WR's.

Did you not understand what consistency means? I didn't mean season to season, I meant from game to game. Johnson had off games. Smith was more consistent on a week to week basis.

johnson would have huge games, but then he'd go 2 catches for 18 yards while tj had 160 receiving. great for the bengals. bad for my fantasy team. he had like 4 weeks like that. took my first place team out in the first round.

brady quinn is being treated like a god and it is ridiculous. I don't think he has the leadership and big game mentality when it comes down to it. They barely escaped on saturday, and that was only an okay team. I believe Booty will fall into his role at USC and with a target like Jarrett, theyll be able to take the Irish down. I also think Notre Dame might overlook this game next saturday, as it seems they did this past saturday. The minute they take something for granted is when they get upset.

No, you were just one of the stupid kids in there talking about god knows what and not making sense and then when John (broken_parachute) made a legit point it was just a "well they should've won by 165981 points because they're #2 in the country." GA Tech deserves credit for creating a hostile environment and being ready to play and executing the game plan.

Brady Quinn DESERVES all the hype. Did you not see what he did last season? Granted, they were overrated going into the bowl game because they really didn't beat anybody last year, but he still put up very good numbers, and as a senior, in his 2nd year in an offense that fits him perfectly, he deserves the hype. Not to mention, he's the star QB in the country, at the most recognizeable football school in the country with the biggest fan base and it's own TV deal. It's not hard to figure out why he's been talked about and treated like he's god.
If by an "okay team" you mean a team who's defense, for the most is back, led the team to victories over: Auburn (in Auburn), Clemson, Wake Forest, Miami (In Miami), and held Georgia to only 14 points in a loss, then I would agree with you; ND "struggled" with an "okay team."
fact of the matter is, Notre Dame SHOULDN'T have blown out GA Tech because GA Tech is a very good defense with probably the nation's BEST WR.
They're not going to overlook Penn State, a team that had 1 loss (should've been undefeated) at all. Why would you think this? It's an offense at PSU that's potentially explosive and another test. Charlie Weiss doesn't let his teams look past any opponent. What happened down at GA Tech was that GA Tech had an enormously rowdy crowd, the ND o-line looked shakey/had hard time hearing any calls/signals from Quinn, and thusly the offense looked bad until the 1 drive right before halftime. Sometimes, in sports, maybe the "under dog" deserves some credit instead of just criticizing the favorite. GA Tech is no slouch.
John David Booty will be fine at USC because it's his 3rd year there and I think they win that game as well; but solely because it's at USC. However, I won't be shocked in ND doesn't avenge their loss from last years game because I'm still not sold on the USC defense.
