who (in college) uses this shit, I hate it. i have to take my entire university studies course online on this, and it takes forever for everything to load. although, i still have a 100% in this class.

blackboard is pretty annoying. It takes forever for shit to upload on there. Classes didn't start for me and already my assignments and syllabi (plural wtf?) are up. I guess that's kinda good in a way.

I started using blackboard a while ago, but I'm glad I don't have to turn in every assignment through there, only some daily simple things.

I never had a big problem with Blackboard. :shrugs: I only had a problem with professors who didn't know how to use it so well.

same. i used it at hofstra last year and it was good shit. we don't have it at uconn, though. which is good and bad; i mean, handing shit it online was annoying but it saved paper/ink. but i always feel more comfortable when the proffesor has an actual hard copy of the paper...whaaaaaaatever.

It works fine for me for the most part. I like professors that put the syllabus up before the term starts.

It's annoying that only one of my teachers uses blackboard. So I have to log onto to check for/hand in assignments for one class only. Last year I only had one or two teachers a semester who actually used it. Most of the teachers I've had admitted they can't use it well so they decide not to.

me either, I used it when i was in school the past 4 years and it wasn't bad... except sometimes it was down or not functioning right. there were always updates on the main page of "Current Blackboard Issues" though.

I never took a class through there though, just had assignments and documents posted on there. And ocassionally an online quiz or survey to do.

I use Blackboard for my Shakespeare class. I got 97 questions through a test and it froze.
I hate it.

Heh, my poly uses this. The bad part is that its unreliable as hell, having to refresh several times before the damn pages load, errors in submissions because you forgot to save questions that you were supposed to save, etc. But the good part was that it was pretty simple to cheat with it, doing assignments multiple times to eliminate the wrong answers, etc :p

Blackboard sucks if it isn't used correctly. I had one online class where the teacher knew what he was doing and it was awesome. We had a chat room with him drawing on a virtual blackboard. The test were easier to take because they were open book.

you want to hear a total crock of shit? our campus has blackboard for all of its classes, which all of the students get to use for free. Our blackboard is always maintained and always running great, ive never had a problem with it at all. My dickhead chem teacher made us go out and buy a registration for a website called eduspace. I dont know if anyone has had to use eduspace, but its the exact same thing as blackboard, just in different colors. Also, eduspace never, ever works. You can know 100% that you are putting in the right answer for a homework problem and it will tell you its wrong 500 times and on the 501st try of submitting the same answer... it will tell you its right.

$35 for a registration for a site that we already have free access too, and the new site never even works. Fuck that, and fuck college.

webCT < blackboard < ICON

I guess ICON is based on something called "Desire2Learn", some new "online-edu" software or whatever. But I guess this semester is the last time professors will even have the option of BB or WebCT here.
