Estates (http://www.myspace.com/estatesmusic) (which features Andy Lee, formerly of Cartel) has posted three new songs on their MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/estatesmusic) profile. andy was so fun to watch live back in the early cartel days ... always energetic and a giant smile on his face the whole time.

Yes. Andy played on the EP.
Ryan left Cartel after the recent success.
Andy was kicked out of Cartel shortly before the full length was recorded.

ah thanks for the info...I Wasnt aware...did Ryan take Andy's place for the full length?
I feel stupid because I've been listening to Cartel ever since their EP came out, but they never came out West until right before Chroma came out (at least to the NW to my knowledge)

andy's fucking awesome.
every copeland show in atlanta, i see him singing the words from the side of the stage. and it always brings a smile to my face.
the only time cartel was decent, was when he was in the band.
honestly. (no pun intended.) (okay, maybe.)

No, Ryan was the bassist. Andy was replaced by Nic Hudson prior to the recording of Chroma.

i like it alot nice warm vocal
i dont think it sounds like copeland at all....i think its a very close minded comment.
i certainly think it has a sound of its own....it stands out.
cant wait to see these guys live!

it wasnt a close minded comment, it was opinion.
I dont think the music sounds too much like Copeland, but his voice totally sounds like Aaron's.
opinion...right
the only similarity i hear is that they both use falsetto frequently.
singers have been using this tool for years....im pretty sure Aaron marsh did not invent it.
i think Franc's voice is a little tougher...not as pretty as Aaron's.
both great.

Come on man, be realistic. Falsettos and everything else aside, Franc sounds like Aaron, there's no way around it. It's also worth noting that Franc sounding like Aaron has nothing to do with the fact that he produced the ep, if you listen to Franc sing in his older solo work you can still hear the smilarities. Estates are amazing, they have great music and are some of my best friends but considering the band is well aware of the comparisons, I'm surprised Franc didn't make more of an attempt to seperate himself. Also, if you liked Andy playing guitar in Cartel, you need to seem him play drums live, he's a stud.
tim is also aaron's roommate, as well as jon (copeland) bucklew's brother-in-law. it's the whole central florida scene coming together!

No.
Ryan was the bassist.
Andy played guitar. After Andy, he was replaced by Nic (who used to be in bands with all the guys before the days of Cartel anyways).
