I went to Butch's show on May 10th at the House of Blues in Chicago with one of by besties. It was our second BW show and it was amazing. The amount of energy and passion that man puts into his shows is just..well words just can't describe. My friend and I ended not that far from the stage and when he came out into the crowd for 'Hot Girls in Good Moods' when he sat down (well we all got down on the ground...) I was literally to his right and he was in front of me for a good part of the song when he wasn't singing up and down the line.
I am trying to remember all the songs he played that night (and if you went to another show and it looks the same, feel free to add from the show please lemme know!) and I'm sure a bunch of these are out of order. Any help would be appreciated!! =)

Thanks for the set. I'm hoping to catch his show in NYC later this month. It helps that Locksley is opening, extra points!

I'm pretty sure the set list is out of order and I hope I didn't omit anything or add something in by mistake. It was great and I hope you get to go!!! Locksley was really good, I really liked them and I had listened to them on Myspace before going to the show just to get a feel of what they'd sound like and ended up buying both of their cds off MerchDirect today. Butch comes out and sings a song with them at the beginning and they were up there for almost an hour.

Saw him two nights in a row this weekend. Was second row for the first one, front and center for the second one. My brother and I literally helped him down into the audience for Hot Girls (and back on) after which he proceeded to play the final guitar solo while standing on the speakers right above me. Needless to say, it was awesome.

I was a bit surprised he only played 4 from the new one.

Went to this show tonight and damn, does he put on a good show!
I don't know everything he played but he definitely did play "Cigarette Lighter Love Song", "I Passed Your Place...", "Pretty Melody", "Trash Day", "Laid/The Taste of Red", "Ponce de Leon Ave.", "She Likes Hair bands", "Rich Girl" and "3 Kids in Brooklyn". Loved the on the fly song he wrote before singing "She Likes Hair Bands", at least he made it seem on the fly, haha. Butch seemed to think they had a really limited amount of time to play due to the dance club downstairs at Webster Hall and kept worrying the music was going to penetrate the floor at some point. I think that's why we might have gotten shorted "The Weight of Her" and "Going Back/Going Home", both of which I was a little sad to miss out on.
The last song of the set was insane, with each band member singing a verse and Butch pretty much run amok around the stage until half the strings on his acoustic were broken and flying all over and then he perched at the edge of the stage and wrapped the mic cord around his neck and it was all very intense and raw. Loved it. And the dance party was super fun! He ended up a few people away from me so I was on the floor (most people stayed standing) and we all bounced and jumped and rocked out in hopes that the people at the club downstairs would come up and call us lame.
Super fun show, wish it was a little longer but SO awesome. I'd go see him again in second.

Anyone catch the Atlanta show? Anything special or different about it?

I was at the Atlanta set. Nothing too terribly different. Played 4 songs of Lets Go Out Tonites cd which was a bit of a surprise. Nice to see him with an electric guitar again. Only one? off Letters, which was a bit shocking. 7 or so off Sycamore, 4 off the new one, and CLLS. Fun set, but he has the same "gimmicks" he does every night and people always seem to think they're special for that show. Still a great time. 5th time seeing him for me.
