There has been a fair amount of talk about this in the Video game thread. But I am very excited for this game. I've had that on preorder for a while now. So stoked to get it, and so happy that ill be done with school then so I can devote my full attention to it.

The one I didn't like. I loved the physics and all that, however Nico Bellic was not interesting to me, his story was not interesting to me. I hated the phone calls to go bowling while I was on a mission. I hated inputting codes through a phone. Do I need to go on. Seriously not everyone is gonna suck that games dick I did enjoy aspects of it but overall I prefer Vice City, and San Andreas.

Judging from the demo I played at PAX, yes and no. The cutscenes looked like typical R* cutscenes (over-the-top physical motions), but the gameplay was incredibly solid and the animations were very well done. This game probably won't hit 20-30 for a few years.

HAHA. So one of the reasons you don't like a game is because they made it a little inconvenient to cheat? I agree with vice city's story being better but definitely not san andreas. I couldn't even get through san andreas due to the lack of a replay option for the missions and there was a TON of time wasted driving all the way accross the map to replay a mission. I guess you probably didn't run into that much considering you use cheat codes.

wow you're an angry person. I just thought it was funny that one of your main gripes about the game was that it was too hard to cheat. I could care less whether you like the game or not but I was under the assumption that this forum was for discussion. If you read my post I actually agreed with you about vice city and I just made an argument about why I didn't like san andreas. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you by saying you use cheats. I didn't realize that was such a big deal. On a side note, if you want to be considered even somewhat intelligent you should try expanding your vocabulary beyond the word fuck.

edit: Kind of disappointed to see one reviewer say the main storyline is only like 15. 20 hours if you do everything available. Seems really short by Rockstar standards. Won't bother me too much because I expect to be spending a good deal of time playing co-op MP with my friends, but people looking for a lengthy single player experience they might be let down.

Yes indeed, Complete Master Hunter Level 5 (by knife killing 2 cougars, very fucking hard to do) and the Buffalo Rifle will be available for purchase in the Gunsmith.

It is a single shot rifle but it will kill any animal with the exception of the Grizzly Bear with a single shot ,even to the leg or other body part. Be carefull on using it against small animals like armadillos and foxes as it will blow them to pieces and you wont be able to harvest their pelts to sell.

The Honor system in place changes whether people revere you or are afraid of you. I felt it worked well enough for that purpose, it is kind of subtle though.

I love this game with a passion but I have to make 2 points:

Is there anything people find themselves doing after you have completed the main game? I mean other than 100% completion (im on about 95%) there isn't much making me want to keep on playing. And would anyone else love to see a prequal for this game? I mean playing as John, Dutch, Bill or Javier when they were in a gang together? That would be great.

I know I'm late here but I just got the game a few weeks ago. It was a pretty awesome game, and I didn't expect the ending to be like that at all. It was a pretty well made game all around. The controls and graphics were pretty great and visually I've never seen a game so beautiful to just look at. I'm just afraid the online features and the side missions and such won't keep my interest for very long. I don't like Jack's character either. The soundtrack is phenomenal (especially when you're riding your horse through Mexico upon first arriving and you hear Jose Gonzalez...amazing).

Overall, worth the money I paid I would say.

One line in the cut scene before the last mission is genius.

John's son comments on the invention of airplanes by saying "one of them machines can turn men into angels" and John repeats it... He re-iterates that statement because he draws a connection between that statement and guns, not just airplanes. There's something about that that I really like.

Is there anything people find themselves doing after you have completed the main game? I mean other than 100% completion (im on about 95%) there isn't much making me want to keep on playing. And would anyone else love to see a prequal for this game? I mean playing as John, Dutch, Bill or Javier when they were in a gang together? That would be great.

That's how I feel, after beating the game and play a bit of multiplayer, I don't see myself playing it again.

One thing I like about 100% for RDR compared to all the other R* games is there's less ridiculous minutia you have to do. All of the 100% is logical... not like "Find 500 pieces of rope" stuff.

To my recollection, yes you can. The cut scenes are mostly good anyway.

My playstation broke in July with Red Dead stuck inside. Since I have one of the first models I pretty much have to buy a new ps3 to get on going again. Im so angry about it, I just got out of Mexico, which felt like a strenuous part of the game.

Different. You have the reins and you have to regulate the speed so as not to tire the horse out too quickly or he will buck you.

The horse controls are fantastic. They're intuitive enough where you don't feel like you're just driving a car that looks like a horse, but it's not this annoying "a horse would control really difficultly, so we made the controls terrible!" difference either. And the animations are great.

And Undead so far has been great. What makes it that much more interesting is, unlike most zombie games, you've spent countless hours living in these towns already. You lived in them BEFORE the outbreak, so seeing the bleak zombie apocalypse is a huge change and that much more impactful.

So I'm late to the party. Just bought a PS3 earlier this month and got this through a free trial of gamefly, and just bought it on Amazon yesterday (they had it for $29 in one of their "lightning deals". Heyoooooo.) I've only played about 4 hours so far, and have spent most of the time roaming through the wilderness hunting and taking on the random events, also assaulted a bandit hideout and have done a few missions. This game is so rad.

Haha! The way you wrote that was hilarious, and yes this happened to me too, but I was actually referring to a different time. I had bought one of the available locations to stay in, and saved my game, came back outside, saw something moving in the grass (bobcat), chased it, killed it, then was attacked by a wolf. I tried to shoot it as it was tearing up my horse, but instead put one right in the horses head. After a moment of sadness (recalling all the chases, gunfights, etc I'd been through with that specific horse) I avenged his death on the wolf, his whole family, cousins, and any other animal I saw roaming around for an hour. It didn't make me feel any better...

Oh that sucks. I loved mine so much. I had it for the longest time. It was once of those light grey ones that run around free after you learn how to lasso. I ditch my game given horse, and stuck with that beast forever. I will never love another horse as much as I loved him.

I haven't done the flying mission yet, my step dad was telling me about it though. When horses get hit by trains, I laugh. I remember picking off some banditos as they rode near the train, they'd fall and there horse would try to run across the tracks, instant blood misting. I also found it incredibly easy to defeat the trian mission where they're shooting at the engine and you're manning the gatling. I would just plug the horses legs. Ain't goin' nowhere without your horses motherfuckers.

When I was going to Mexico for the first time and that specific song started to play, Il knew this game was something special. The Sun was just going under and I enjoyed every second. What a great game.
