One more thing. The PS3 is now going to be delayed in Europe, Australia, and 106 other countries.

That said, the premium PlayStation 3 has a standard HDMI output, meaning it can use regular HDMI cables. Those can be found for far lower prices on sites such as eBay, where a 15-foot HDMI-to-HDMI cable can go for under $10.

Unbelievable, people will have to take out another mortgage to afford this thing.

Haha. It's to bad outside of ebay they will be 50 or more bucks. Plus I wouldn't trusts a cable that should be worth about 100 that I bought for 10

When I first heard about the 3 new next gen consoles, the PS3 was the one I was most looking forward to, now, I couldn't give a fuck about it to be honest.

again you get what you pay for...if you want the best system when it comes out, you are going to have to pay for it. when will people understand this? its like comparing a Civic and a BMW.

Some of it might be price gouging too, just because something is priced higher doesn't mean it's better than any other system.

Because if I pay $600 for a system that says it has 1080p and Blu-ray capability, I want that right out of the box. You arne't getting what you pay for there. You have to spend more money for that.
And as for the whole "you get what you pay for" in general, the way sony has been constantly changing the specs and such, no one will really know how great the system is until its released. There is very little in game footage out there for the PS3.

Don't have any of that special shit so it really doesn't matter to me but I refuse to pay $500 for a video game system.

I dont see what the big deal is. Everyone knows its going to cost a lot of money by now. How many people are actually equipped with HDTVs right now? This system is supposed to last long term and will be great in a few years when HDTVs become more prevalent.

i have an hdtv and would never waste extra money on this system. the 360 is ready out of the box for $200 cheaper...ill stick with that.

There will be a separate HD drive available to let the 360 compete with PS3.

Do you know how much its gonna be and when it is coming out?
And haha, by chance does anyone know if the HD DVDs for TV show box sets would be 6 discs, or 1 or 2? I just saw an ad in a magazine. Just wondering.

your an idiot. in order to obtain 1080p on the PS3 gameplay you need an hdmi cable. The PS3 does not ship with an hdmi cable. In order to obtain 1080i with the 360 you need component cables. The xbox 360 ships with component cables.
Also, once the HD-DVD player is released, the component cables that already came with the 360 will output true HD content. No extra cables needed.
With the PS3, without shelling out for the hdmi cable, Blu-Ray dvd's that are copyprotected will not be displayed in HD.
I also believe the HD-DVD player for the 360 is going to be 100-150. Since the 360 is being used as the processing power it shouldn't cost much to produce.
So with all of that you can have an HD-DVD ready 360 xbox for as much as 550 or a Blu-ray ready PS3 for about 750.
I heard they are installing new processors in the 360 that lets them run smoother and cooler than the current ones. Anyone have any idea when they are being shipped (Incase my 360 should accidentally fall and break or something...).

Yeah....I'm not getting PS3. This isn't a big deal to me at all, but all this shit is getting insane.
Anyway, I'm all for 360. Especially when the price goes down a bit, and I get some money.

I'm guessing some time next year. But I have no way of proving this.

Every system since the N64 has had around 3 different versions with slightly different parts to further the life of your console. The Ps2 had like 8 and xbox had 3-4. So im sure if u got your hands on a launch 360 and a newer released one you'd notice some changes. Also while im sure the recent broken promises will sway some sony loyalists most will still foolishly invest the money believing the lies. Afterall Sony promised Ps2 would have AOL IM, and the abiltiy to surf the web. Ill get Ps3 when my ps2 gets my promised features!!!

Haha. Well, I may have been wrong about gaming, but Sony's most touted feature of Blu-ray is useless without an HDMI cable.

in the fine print it says HD cables will not be included for both systems. So it a safe guess that these systems won't even be HD ready out of the box.

this is becoming a cosmic joke at this point. the average american family cant afford to drop 600 a system to begin with... let alone one that isnt even "complete" out of the fuckin box.
