Yesterday at the office a coworker was showing me this WatchDog site where she can find all the registered sex offenders near her place. The point was she found out her neighbor across the street was listed. So I get curious and punch in my address..up pops a dot at my address..click on the dot and...boom. My roommates picture comes up with some pretty gnarly convictions. 1. This is a holy shit moment solely because of how bizarre it is. 2.. I realize maybe I should have done more research on him? Checking a sex offender registry isn't the first thing that pops into my mind when searching for a roommate/apartment split but I am feeling like an idiot at the moment. CraigsList is huge in the Bay Area for finding roommates/apartments/etc. And for the past 2 years he's been a cool guy, paid his rent, etc. Regardless.. I'm outta here asap. Even if its in his past, those convictions keep flashing in my head. And the fact that my neighbors most likely know and I have no clue what they think.

Damn. I just found a guy i play church softball with on there.... Super nice guy too. He is always really friendly but not in the "give me a hug/creeper" way. I'm beside myself now. I'm not putting him out anywhere. My reason to him for moving out is simply I would rather be closer to my job. My reason to my landlord is the truth and that I find it uncomfortable. Maybe he's gone through pain, but he made the choices and he lives with it. He has a job. An apartment. No sign in his front yard with flashing lights saying he's an offender. He suffers no loss with me moving out.
