I don't understand why tom always re-records his vocals in the studio after live performances; I love the way he sounds live. He did the same thing for that pepsi smash show blink did. it's rather annoying

That's what I guessed. AVA is terrible live, and on that video his voice sounded like what it sounds like on the CD, not like a dying otter.

This is the third "live" video I've seen from this band thats been over-dubbed with a studio version. The vocals are definitely dubbed, and I'd even venture to say that all the instruments were as well. I'm not a sound expert by any means, but I've heard plenty of live recordings, live recordings that have been messed with in a studio, and just straight up studio recordings, and it's not hard to distinguish which is which. I've never seen this band in person, so I'm just hoping that the dubbing is something they do after playing the show, and that they aren't playing under a recording during the actual show.

Yes, I understand why the get that comparison assclown. U2 is my favorite band. My forum name is one of their album titles if you didnt notice. The riff from ava's first single has joshua tree written all over it. What I was saying is that they shouldnt even be mentioned in the same breath as a band like U2. AvA is a flash in the pan.

why do i always get the impression tom is miming live for AVA? i saw one live AVA video a while ago where is vocals where unimpressive to say the least. the last couple i've seen they have been perfect, spot on and uncannily like the studio versions. not saying he definately is but it seems a bit suspect to me.

Shit, what a shame. I NEVER drop the "he sold out" bomb but, Tom did. This isn't music. This is make-up, clothes, and fog to a sound track. NONE of the instruments (minus the drums) are actually being played. I never liked blink, but they at least had a "Raw" element to them (Dude ranch and before). Tom sold his soul to Geffen.

I have seen them live...twice...once at bowery ballroom and at six flags with tbs and head automatica........At bowery they were awesome BUT there were times wen Tom was suppsd to sing and he would miss putting the mic up to his mouth...but u some how magically heard him perfectly lol .............HOWEVER lol....At six flags u could tell Tom was actually singing...THey had the recording playing but very low and u could definitely tell Tom was really singinig and the instrumentals were real cuz u could hear a few mistakes but they still rocked the show.....NOT AS MUCH AS TBS DID but its ok lol
P.S. Adam from TBS is goin just as crazy as Tom...i knew they're friends but Adam has gotten nuts cuz he's started doing the whole WHOOOAAAA OHHHHH , OHHH jus like Tom in a lot of the AVA songs and he's even doing sum of those stupid dance moves on stage like Tom

i've seen them live. it's wierd, for the whole show everyone's playing the instruments and tom's really singing. he does need work. some of the programming is pre recorded, but that's pretty standard. it's so stupid how for these live videos they just play the album track for the vocals minus some of the effects. if you can't sing live, don't post videos you're not proud of. i'd rather they just not put any up cause this shit is dumb. i've been a huge fan of tom's work so that's saying alot. really dissappointing. next time he should write vocal parts he can sing.
