Halo 3 DLC Question

Random question that I can't seem to find an answer for on the interwebs:

I finally bought the Halo 3 Legendary and Mythic map packs. Yes, I know they're old. Yes, I know everyone is out playing ODST and the Reach beta. I'm poor and sticking with what I have for now. So I downloaded the packs last week and have yet to play any of the new maps when doing Social Slayer. Is there something I missed? Any and all help is appreciated.

You can play social slayer without any of the map packs, so most people in the playlist don't have them. If you want to play on the new maps, play in the Team Mythic playlist.

Yea, if you play slayer or something, it will only select a new map if all the players in the lobby have the map packs I think.

Perfect example. I just got my xbox last week with no hard drive. Therefore there is no room for the new maps.

You should have bought ODST instead, it comes with $30 worth of map packs. I'm pretty sure you could find it cheap too.
