I've always liked this band, but have never given them to much play

If it sounds anything like Worlds Apart, I am going to be one unhappy camper.

And btw, their official site has the release date at Oct. 24th...

So are you implying that Worlds Apart is better than Source Tags or Madonna? Because you speak like a person who has never even heard the latter two.

On its own Worlds Apart is okay, but when compared to their previous albums it's just an incredible letdown.

compared to their previous albums, worlds apart is still good

if they would've rested on their laurels in the recording sessions that led to Worlds Apart and made Source Tags Volume 2, it would've been awful because the surprise would not have been there. We would've known it was coming, as opposed to the out of nowhere value of the original source tags. By doing something so radically different, it was just as great of a sucker punch as the first listen of Source Tags and Codes.

That said, I think the song structuring in WA is much stronger, Keely's voice is much better, and as a whole, the album flows much better. While they'll never make another "another morning stoner" or "It was there that I first saw you", WA feels like more of an album, whereas ST&C feels like a collection of badass songs.

Can't argue taste, I guess. But there's no denying WA is a ridiculously good album from a 'talent' perspective.

EDIT: You'll also note that in no part of that original post did i make any mention of the quality of any of their other albums. Your remark made it sound like you thought worlds apart was not worthy, whereas i feel otherwise. And it was, in fact, my best of 05. nothing came close.

Ghey. That's nearly a month later than what has been said already.

Oh well. Better than a 2007 release date.

I didn't even know they were coming out with a new album, so this is GOOD news for me.

These guys are very cool and unique. I just got into them less then a year ago. I hope this record is as good as the past ones.
