I won 1 of my 3 ( lost both AP leagues)
Thankfully Peyton plays Houston next week and it looks like they are going to have to pass ALOT.
I think I am in some ESPN leagues that I thought were Mock Drafts or I just left because I had a shitty pick.

Trent Green got injured and Stephan Jackson is severely overated. I would do this trade if I was getting Dunn, Davis, and Cutler. Dunn is a stat machine and Davis will get some points.

09/11/06, 11:16 AM
trent green died, thomas jones sucks, and stephen jackson is the 2nd most overated player in the NFL behind charles woodson
carson palmer fucked me, I still did decent, but the team I was playing did incredible. oh, mcnabb was on the bench, go figure.

I'm up 83 to 91 and Santana Moss plays tonight. As long as Chester Taylor gets shut down, I should be in good shape. The Ravens D pretty much saved my ass this week. A lot of my players didn't do too well.
i still have randy moss and antonio gates to play, but they need huge games.

In my $250 buy in CBS Sportsline league, my team won 98-73. Next week we look like we have favorable matchups and should take our next guy too. I really hope my team wins, $1600 in if we do. Bench really played well too, with Maroney looking like a stud waiting to happen.
My ESPN league went well also, $10 buy, 10 team league, I took my first game 88-64. Hopefully I win both those leagues because I'll be getting a fat rake of $1670 from two leagues.
I lost in my AP League, but I also missed that draft. My other 6 ESPN teams won though. That'd be sweet if I took that many championships.
To mht, Jay Cutler doesn't belong on any Fantasy roster. Not for a while at least. So Green, even hurt, >>>>> Cutler. Andre Johnson is much more valuable than Vernon Davis, and Thomas Jones is about equal in value to Warrick Dunn. If it's Steven Jackson instead of Jones, Jackson is SIGNIFICANTLY more valuable than Dunn. Jackson is a first rounder, Dunn is a third rounder. Do the math. Overall, I'd rate the trade value 70 to 30, and that's being generous to the latter side.

no, andre johnson is going to benefit sadly from having eric moulds. He had a decent game against a good Eagles secondary, also they will be playing alot of catchup =alot of passes.
Green is only going to miss two weeks.
Warrick Dunn racks up yards, but rarely TDs. He's great if you're in a league where receptions count for something however.

Steven Jackson averaged 5.5 yds a carry against a good Denver defense.

I won in both of the AP leagues.
In my other league I'm down 84.00 to 61.00.
His team is done for the week. I still have Aaron Brooks (don't laugh), Lamont Jordan and Antonio Gates.
The odds are slim, but if any ONE of them has a good game, and the other two do decent....I'm going to win that one too.

I am losing by about 50 so far and my opponent still has LT tonight.
I have Jerry Porter and Santana Moss so I am screwed. My main problem was Carson Palmer only getting me 3 points and he had Chicago's D.
Steven Jackson averaged 5.5 yds a carry against a good Denver defense.
Why is he overrated?
lol 100 people just chirped that he was overrated, i had no idea. i must be out of the fantasy football loop

Well Rex Grossman passed on Green Bay so what do you think?
Who does Miami play?
SF plays Seattle and Jacksonville plays Pittsburgh...Burleson is just a deep threat...you might as well drop him once Branch begins playing.

Tough call on that one. I'm having the same debate with myself in another league.
I'd probably go with Bryant. Although, I can see Matt Jones doing damage to my Steelers D.

idk if this is what you wanted, but:
Each Monday afternoon, the Fantasy Scout takes an early look ahead to the coming week and beyond. We give you the early lowdown on players to watch and consider emerging trends that will affect your fantasy strategy, even before the "Monday Night Football" game!
Player Spotlight
New England RB Laurence Maroney could be the best No. 2 RB in the league, and even though he is listed behind Corey Dillon on the depth chart, it's very clear Maroney is the better runner right now. Of course, Dillon's best years appear to be behind him, while Maroney's NFL journey is just beginning, but how long can the veteran hold off the ultra-impressive rookie for more carries? If you don't have Maroney on your roster, get him now. If you have him, don't trade him. Outside of Reggie Bush, Maroney is the most impressive rookie in fantasy football. He came into the NFL labeled as a possibly explosive runner who needed work on his inside running skills. But Maroney has looked like the full package early on, taking on defenders and fighting for extra yardage, while also displaying the vision and quickness that can make him a big threat to opposing defenses on outside runs. Maroney seems to have it all as a runner. He can pound the ball inside and is difficult for tacklers to bring down once he gets past the initial wave of defenders. When Maroney picks up momentum, he can charge into the secondary for some big gainers. So far, Maroney is looking like he could be in the mold of Steven Jackson, with a little less bulk and a bit more quickness. Maroney led the Patriots with 86 rushing yards against Buffalo, including a long run of 27 yards. He carried the ball 17 times, while Dillon had 16 carries. Dillon is still dependable for New England, but Maroney clearly gives the offense more life and is a bigger threat to break loose for big runs. You can't count Dillon out yet, but it might just be a matter of time before Maroney becomes the preferred option. Even if he continues to split reps with Dillon in the near future, Maroney could post very good fantasy numbers quite often, and he is at least looking like a fine flex option for now.
Injury Fallout
Browns wide receiver Joe Jurevicius is expected to miss four to six weeks with broken ribs, robbing the Browns of possibly their best possession receiver. Jurevicius has had an unfortunate injury history in his career overall, even though he managed to steer clear of misfortune during his best year with Seattle in 2005. Even if Jurevicius were healthy now, he seemed to be overmatched as a possible prime target for Cleveland, and was a better fit as a secondary option in Seattle. Without Jurevicius, opposing defenses might continue to pay extra attention to RB Reuben Droughns, who rushed for only 27 yards against the Saints. Opponents might prefer to take their chances against Charlie Frye, who can make some plays to help his team, but the young QB is also prone to making some ill-advised decisions that could cost his team some wins. Braylon Edwards may take some time to round into full form, and Dennis Northcutt simply isn't dependable. While most of the Cleveland offense looks very shaky right now, especially without Jurevicius, who can at least command some extra attention from secondaries, one player might continue to rise. Frye's best target right now appears to be Kellen Winslow Jr., who made a rather happy return to real NFL action on Sunday after a long absence. Winslow caught eight balls for 63 yards, including an 18-yard TD catch. Even if the rest of the offense sputters, it looks like you can count on him for quality production in the weeks ahead. As for Jurevicius, cut him loose and don't look back. He might have trouble posting regularly good numbers when he returns.
Preparing for Changes
There are already published reports that Kansas City quarterback Trent Green, who suffered a devastating blow to the head on Sunday, might not return until after the bye week on Oct. 1. I'm sure all fantasy owners wish him a speedy recovery, as the usually durable Green has served us all well over the years, and it will be good to see him return at some point. In the meantime, the Chiefs have very questionable depth, to say the least, at the quarterback position. Green's fantasy owners are now facing the prospect of at least two weeks without possibly their top QB. Adding Chad Pennington or even Alex Smith looks like viable options, with the latter still being a desperation pickup. If you drafted a solid backup, obviously now is the time to lean on him. If your backup is Chris Simms or Jon Kitna, you'll simply have to hope he can bounce back from his opening-week performances.
If Green isn't back by early October, the Chiefs have only journeyman Damon Huard and rookie Brodie Croyle behind him. Huard did complete 12 of 20 passes for 140 yards and a TD in relief work on Sunday, but he certainly isn't a good fantasy pickup and he would bog down the Kansas City offense if he had to take over for an extended period. He has good size and arm strength, but Huard is limited in his playmaking ability and doesn't make good decisions under pressure. Croyle and practice squad QB Casey Printers simply aren't ready to guide an NFL offense.
Huard would certainly struggle against defenses better than the Bengals, who are overaggressive and often porous. The Chiefs have the Broncos next on the schedule, on the road, and Denver is no doubt in a foul mood after losing their opener at St. Louis. Huard certainly could be in for a long day in a hostile environment. Owners of Larry Johnson are now understandably worried that opposing defenses will key on Johnson often and limit his production. Johnson will certainly be less productive overall given the QB situation, but the offensive line blocked well for him in the opener and he also caught five passes for 80 yards. So you can't consider benching him under any circumstances. Johnson might have to fight harder for his yards, but he could also function as a safety receiver for Huard often and his overall numbers could still be good, but not great.
Unless Kansas City makes a move to acquire another QB, Huard is certain to stifle the production of the offense while he plays. Tony Gonzalez caught 10 balls on Sunday, but he'll likely draw extra defenders as Huard might lock onto him too often. Still, you can't bench him for a lesser player just yet. He could post decent totals when the Chiefs play from behind. Huard also doesn't inspire much confidence as a deep passer, so the value of Eddie Kennison certainly takes a hit. Don't hesitate to bench him in the near future.
Reality Strikes
After the bad news about Domanick Davis sank in, rookie Wali Lundy became a hot sleeper pick. But on Sunday, it became more apparent why Lundy slipped to the sixth round of the NFL Draft this year. He simply didn't show much in a loss to Philadelphia. Lundy rushed for only 32 yards on 11 carries, even with a respectable Houston passing game opening up some running room.
Lundy simply isn't going to challenge defenses on a consistent basis as a starter. He has good vision and quickness, but he's not tough to tackle, isn't very elusive, and looked tentative at times. Lundy finished with minus-one receiving yards on two receptions. Vernand Morency didn't look any better, with 13 rushing yards on five carries. New acquisition Ron Dayne was deactivated.
The Houston RB situation simply looks like a mess right now. Lundy doesn't appear to be capable of challenging defenses on a consistent basis, and Morency doesn't run with authority. Dayne has been a regular tease throughout his career to fantasy leaguers, so we can't assume he wins the job at some point, either. This is a bad situation that might not get better any time soon. Keep Lundy on your bench for now, but don't expect much, and don't waste roster spots on Morency or Dayne.
Fantasy Scout's Notebook
• Illusion of the day on Sunday? Ahman Green rushing for 110 yards against Chicago. He padded his stats in garbage time, and he could be much less effective against the Saints next week.
• Jacksonville WR Reggie Williams is finally showing some signs of promise. He finished with six catches for 47 yards and a TD against Dallas, making some difficult grabs on passes he used to drop. His mettle will truly be tested against the Steelers next week.
• Jamal Lewis did an admirable job of playing through his hip issues Sunday. Now that play has started for real, Lewis seems determined to stay on the field. He could post quality numbers again when he faces Oakland next week.
• 49ers rookie tight end Vernon Davis caught a 31-yard TD pass in the opener, but he also lost a fumble. While he will suffer some rookie doldrums and might disappear against some better opponents, he should perform rather well when the matchup is right. He's looking like a quality starter for the second week against the Rams, who still must prove that their defensive success in the opener was no fluke.

TOP ADDS
Chad Pennington, QB, Jets (Owned in 5.7 percent of ESPN.com leagues): This one might seem obvious to more savvy fantasy players, but some may have doubts whether Pennington can continue to play as well as he did in the season opener. While there certainly will be not many 300-yard outings ahead against better opponents, Pennington will at least give you respectable production if you're desperate to replace Trent Green or if you are stuck with Brett Favre or Aaron Brooks. Pennington is throwing with good accuracy and making quick, crisp reads. If he starts to put more consistent velocity on the ball, he should be a safe, but unspectacular fantasy option in the near future.
Philip Rivers, QB, Chargers (36.8 percent owned): His Monday night performance should convince you he is a decent desperation option, and many fantasy owners are searching for at least respectable choices at quarterback. Rivers is already a good game manager, and he is making quick, smart decisions. He has displayed good accuracy so far, and even if his numbers won't jump off the stat sheet at you, he can give you decent totals. He's certainly worth considering in the second week against Tennessee, after the Titans made Pennington look very good. Playing in the AFC West means Rivers could have some good outings in high-scoring affairs. He'll be useful when the matchup is right.
Jerious Norwood, RB, Falcons (37.7 percent owned): If you're looking for a very promising flex player or a terrific backup, Norwood isn't going to be available for much longer in many leagues. If you can still add him, consider yourself lucky, and put him on your roster immediately. Norwood carried 10 times for 66 yards in his pro debut and can explode through the defensive front seven any time he touches the ball. If you don't get him now, you may never have him. Norwood doesn't get regular carries, but he makes the most of just about every opportunity.
Reggie Williams, WR, Jaguars (3.0 percent owned): Williams must prove himself now with Jimmy Smith retired, or his career could be headed in the wrong direction for good. While he only finished with 47 receiving yards against Dallas, Williams caught six balls, including a 6-yard TD reception. Williams made the tough grabs that used to turn into drops in the past. He could finally step forward as a dependable target for Byron Leftwich, so take the gamble that he'll finally improve.
Michael Jenkins, WR, Falcons (4.6 percent owned): Here's another previously enigmatic young wide receiver who could be ready to raise his game. The preseason buzz in Atlanta centered around Roddy White, and then the Falcons also acquired Ashley Lelie. Jenkins, however, was Michael Vick's best receiver against Carolina, finishing with three catches for 77 yards, including a 34-yard TD reception. If Vick continues to throw the ball well, Jenkins could emerge as his preferred wide receiver.
Jerricho Cotchery, WR, Jets (0.2 percent owned): He quietly stepped forward as a solid possession receiver in the preseason, and Cotchery caught six passes for 65 yards and a TD in the opener. Cotchery isn't going to be explosive, but he will make a lot of important receptions, especially when the Jets look much worse than they did in the first week and have to play catch-up. Cotchery is a fine add for depth and should certainly get strong consideration in leagues of 12 or more teams.
PRIME CUTS
Aaron Brooks, QB, Raiders (90.2 percent owned): He looked awful in the opener, eventually getting benched, and there could be many more bad performances ahead with a shaky offensive line and a receiving corps that looks like a mess. Brooks held onto the ball too long on Monday and he had a lot of trouble finding open receivers, plus his decision-making skills have always been in question. Don't waste time waiting for him to turn things around.
Jon Kitna, QB, Lions (58.3 percent owned): It's going to be a long season for a guy who was an overachiever at times in the past. He doesn't have the type of offensive support he had when he played well for Cincinnati, and Mike Martz can't perform miracles when he doesn't have a dependable running game or a reliable receiving crew. Kitna can play well statistically at times if he has a good skill position cast, but other than Roy Williams, who will continue to draw extra defensive attention, Kitna doesn't have much help and seems destined to struggle all year long. You can likely add a better second QB in many leagues.
Ron Dayne, RB, Texans (65.6 percent owned): Too many fantasy owners keep waiting for him to somehow rise up and put a completely disappointing career so far behind him. There still is hollow hope that he will at least become a respectable fantasy player or goal-line RB at some point. But it's time some of us stopped thinking he still can be a surprise. He may not even be a factor in Houston, where Wali Lundy and Vernand Morency aren't looking like very promising options, either. The Texans might not find a dependable RB all year long, and with only five TD runs in the last three years, there's no real reason to believe Dayne will suddenly become a reliable short-yardage ball carrier. Don't waste any more time or roster space on a guy who will never emerge as the sleeper some thought he would be.
Brandon Lloyd, WR, Redskins (94.6 percent owned): I liked him as a possible sleeper during the summer, but Lloyd did nothing to impress during the preseason, and was shut out on Monday night. The Washington passing game clearly won't scare a lot of defenses, and Lloyd isn't a top option for Mark Brunell. Lloyd does have a tendency to make the pretty catch, and he should have a few decent outings, but he likely won't help you win too many fantasy games.
Jerry Porter, WR, Raiders (85.2 percent owned): Porter fell to fourth on the depth chart at WR recently in Oakland, then he was deactivated on Monday. Porter had been a bust as a starter in the past, and now he is sitting in favor of Alvis Whitted. Don't hang on to him waiting for a sudden improvement or a trade. Even if he is dealt, he'll have to acclimate himself to a new team and he does nothing to inspire much confidence as a starter anywhere else in the future.
Joe Jurevicius, WR, Browns (79.2 percent owned): He is expected to miss at least four to six weeks because of broken ribs, and you shouldn't expect much when he returns. Jurevicius was a better fit in Seattle last year, where he was one of a few key pass-catchers in a balanced passing game. He'll be much less effective as a featured target in a much less effective Cleveland passing game if he gets back into the starting lineup when he comes back. Don't hold on to him waiting for late-season production. Cut him now.

and thats what ive been debating all week. Who should i start, Shockey verse the Eagles, or Watson vs the Jets. Ive been thinking about starting Watson since he will probably be Bradys favorite receiving option, and Brdy rarely has 2 bad games in a row. But im also waiting to find out if Jackson and Gabriel are going to play this weekend. If they are, that should open up more space for Watson, but if not then the defense can focus more on Watson and the Pats will rely on their running game more due to less receiving options
what are some others people's opinion on this?

The Seahawks dont look like an offensive juggernaut so far this year, but its because of some hits to the O-Line. They cant run the ball as effectivley, in turn the pass game isint as open as it was in years past. That being said, i still think they will be one of the best offensive teams in the leauge this year, the Giants d is pretty good, so its really kind of a gamble. all depends on if you belive Hasslebeck is in sinc with Deion Branch yet.
The safe bet is NcNair, the Browns have good DBs, but the team as a whole is not very good, McNair usually gets at least a td through the air or on the ground running a game so he is the safest bet in my mind.

No, why? If all you see are the stats, then you would be. But we haven't been using him that extensively because our passing game has been good (especially today, Hasselbeck threw for 5 TDs so who cares). I will care if we start losing games, but since that hasn't happened it's not a big deal. I'm more worried about our line being banged up than I am Shaun.

no way Delhomme had a good game in Smith's return. Barber scores more TDs than Dunn.

If you're insane, yes. Dunn doesn't score many TDs. Barber is a monster out of the backfield recieving or rushing, and Delhomme is already showing signs of his old self with Smith back.

Yahoo's Sit/Start
STRONG PLAY - QUARTERBACK
Brett Favre, Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles
Even though Favre has looked horrible at times in this stage of his career, he still has the talent to destroy bad defenses. His dismantling of the Detroit Lions defense last week - 340 yards and three touchdowns - was a good example of that. In three games this season, Favre has a 59.2 completion percentage while tossing for 283 yards, two touchdowns and one interception per game.
Favre gets another shot at a porous defense this week in the Eagles. Quarterbacks are completing 65.5 percent of their passes against this squad this season. Those passes are flying through the air at the rate of 291 yards and 1.67 touchdowns per game. The Eagles have only picked off one pass so far this season. Against teams like this, we have no other choice than to rank Favre as a must-start this week. Play him while he is hot.
STRONG PLAYS - RUNNING BACK
Ronnie Brown, Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans
Fantasy owners of Brown are probably getting a little frustrated this season. While he does have two touchdowns, he hasn't scored since Week 1. His 63 rushing yards per game are making owners pull their hair out as you read this. Trying to put a positive spin on things, Brown is averaging 3.67 receptions and 31 receiving yards per game this season. It doesn't take a genius to realize the Dolphins would be relying on Brown to carry the offensive load this season. So far he is 37 percent of their offense with 22 plays per game. He is averaging three plays in the red zone (43 percent) per game with a total of three touches inside the 5.
Is everyone picking on the Texans this season? Running backs certainly are! They are rushing the ball 32 times for 157 yards and 1.67 touchdowns per game against the Texans. Running backs are also hauling in 6.33 receptions for 77 yards and 0.67 touchdowns per game as well. Taking one look at these numbers, you certainly don't need us to tell you to start Brown this week. He is a no-brainer as a top-rated back.
Julius Jones, Dallas Cowboys at Tennessee Titans
Though it has only been two games, Jones has been able to hold off fellow running back Marion Barber III this season. Through two games, Jones has been involved twice as much in the offense than Barber. Jones is currently getting 20 touches per game (31 percent) with one touch in the red zone per game. We should caution you a little as Barber is the man in the red zone and inside the 5 for the Cowboys. Jones' 19 carries, 83 rushing yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game have also helped his cause as the man between the 20s. Jones also has one reception for 39 yards this season.
After a Bye week, Jones' fresh legs should see plenty of work against the Titans this week. In three games, the Titans are allowing 30 attempts for 126 yards and one touchdown per game to the position. Jones could also see some numbers in the receiving department, as the Titans are giving up 5.33 receptions and 33 yards per game to opposing running backs. Jones is a strong play as a solid No. 1 fantasy back this week.
STRONG PLAYS - WIDE RECEIVER
T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Cincinnati Bengals vs. New England Patriots
Finally healthy! At least that's how Houshmandzadeh looked in his first game back last week. Against a formidable defense in the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houshmandzadeh scored two touchdowns with his nine receptions. He also piled up 94 receiving yards in that game. As a side note, Houshmandzadeh was targeted 10 times last week including one in the red zone. Nine catches on 10 tries is very promising!
We'll see if Houshmandzadeh can keep it rolling this week against the Patriots. While good against the backfield, the Patriots have some problems with the wideouts. This season, wide receivers are averaging 12 receptions, 197 yards and 1.33 touchdowns per game against the Patriots. Against this squad, Houshmandzadeh has the chance to have a big day. Start this strong play wideout as your No. 1 this week.
Isaac Bruce, St. Louis Rams vs. Detroit Lions
Trivia question of the week: How old is Isaac Bruce? Time's up, he is 33. Even at that ripe age, Bruce is still putting up decent numbers. In three games this season, he is catching 4.33 balls for 73 yards per game. The problem is: he hasn't scored yet. Bruce is still getting decent targets in this offense. In three games, he is averaging 7.33 per game (12 percent) with 1.67 targets (18 percent) in the red zone.
There was a small bandwagon of Lions hopefuls for their squad this season. After starting out 0-3, the Lions have their hands full trying to figure out what's wrong. Here's a starting point for them: their coverage of wide receivers. In three games, the Lions are giving up 11 receptions, 163 yards and one touchdown per game. This tags Bruce as a strong play this week but only as your No. 3 fantasy wideout.
Matt Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars at Washington Redskins
Fantasy owners were banking on the Jaguars' No. 1 wideout to help out their squads this season. Unfortunately Jones hasn't complied. In three games, Jones is only putting up 3.67 receptions for 48 yards and zero touchdowns per game. He is also getting fewer targets than fellow Jaguars wideout Reggie Williams. Those targets amount to 7.33 per game (10 percent) with one red zone target per game (9 percent).
Jones may able to cheer up fantasy owners this week. He faces a Redskins squad that is allowing receivers to haul in 11 receptions, 150 yards and one touchdown per game. Before you get too excited, Jones is still only worthy of a starting fantasy spot as a Bye-week or injury replacement.
STRONG PLAY - TIGHT END
Kellen Winslow Jr., Cleveland Browns vs. Oakland Raiders
Through three weeks of play, Winslow has looked like the player the Browns thought that he could be when they drafted him in 2004. He has averaged 6.33 receptions, 66 yards and 0.33 touchdowns per game and proven to be a go-to guy. Quarterback Charlie Frye has been gutsy and effective in his first full season as a starter.
The Raiders have made many players look effective so far this season. In just two games, tight ends have tallied four catches, 26 yards and a touchdown per game against Oakland. Look for Winslow to be a factor in their Week 4 matchup - consider him a high No. 1.
STRONG PLAY - PLACE KICKER
Joe Nedney, San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs
Coming into the season, most wouldn't have considered the 49ers' place kicker a player worth owning except in the deepest leagues. Quarterback Alex D. Smith, running back Frank Gore and receiver Antonio Bryant lead a young attack that can put up points, especially in garbage time. In three games Nedney has attempted 2.33 (and made 1.67) field goals and 2.67 extra points per game.
The Chiefs have made kickers feel welcome in two games. They were supposed to be improved on defense (again). Kickers are still finding their chances against Kansas City, though, attempting 3.5 (and making three) field goals and one extra point attempt per game. Nedney is a sneaky play as a solid No. 1 kicker in Week 4.
STRONG PLAY - DEFENSIVE TEAM
Dallas Cowboys at Tennessee Titans
After a slow Week 1 (thanks to the offense), Dallas turned it on in Week 2. The Cowboys have now averaged 3.5 sacks and one interception per game, while giving up 14 offensive points per game, in two tilts. With up-and-coming playmakers like linebacker DeMarcus Ware, the hits and turnovers could be coming soon.
Like, say, in Week 4. The Titans have been a recipe for success when fielding a fantasy defense. In three games they have mounted just 9.67 offensive points per game. They have also yielded 1.33 sacks, 2.33 interceptions and 0.33 fumble recoveries per game. Dallas is a pretty good choice as your No. 1 defense this week.
WEAK PLAY - QUARTERBACK
Tom Brady, New England Patriots at Cincinnati Bengals
Flip on the television to any sports station and you will probably hear endless chattering about the demise of the Patriots' offense. There are signs out there that this could be the case. The predictably accurate Brady is only completing 53.3 percent of his passes this season. He is throwing for 234 yards and 1.33 touchdowns combined with 0.67 interceptions per game this season. Those aren't horrible numbers, but they are hardly Brady-worthy.
Brady faces the Bengals this week, so it's not like there is an end in sight to the sub-par numbers. Even with injuries and even more police blotter action, the Bengals are playing well, defense included. In three games, they are holding quarterbacks to 227 passing yards and 0.67 touchdowns while picking off two passes per game. While Brady is looking like an "iffy" start this week, he can still be used as a low No. 1 or Bye-week replacement fantasy quarterback.
WEAK PLAYS - RUNNING BACK
Rudi Johnson, Cincinnati Bengals vs. New England Patriots
He is human. We were beginning to wonder after Johnson's first two games. After last week's sub-par performance (19 carries for 47 yards), Johnson has come back to the pack a little. So far this season, Johnson is averaging 24 carries for 96 yards and one touchdown per game. There is no doubt Johnson is the Bengals' workhorse. His per-game average for plays is 26 (42 percent) with 3.33 in the red zone (43 percent) and 0.33 plays inside the 5.
Johnson will likely remain human this week against the Patriots. The Patriots' rushing defense is usually pretty solid, and this season is no different. Specifically, the running back position is averaging 94 rushing yards, 28 receiving yards and 0.33 touchdowns per game this season. In light of this, we have demoted Johnson a little this week in our rankings. Don't panic though; he is still a low No. 1 or top No. 2 fantasy back this week.
Ladell Betts, Washington Redskins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Even with Clinton Portis back in the lineup for the Redskins last week, Betts went off. Betts exploded on the Houston Texans for 124 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries. Keep in mind, this was against the Texans! While filling in for Portis this season, Betts is carrying the ball 13 times for 62 yards and one touchdown per game. He has also been involved regularly in the passing game, hauling in 4.33 receptions for 38 yards per game.
A couple of factors play into Betts' fantasy status this week. First, the Jaguars' defense has been very good against opposing running backs this season. Backs are averaging a mere 58 rushing yards, 33 receiving yards and 0.33 touchdowns per game this season. The second factor is Portis' health. With a healthy Portis back in the game plan, Betts is once again relegated to a backup role with the 'Skins and will likely result in his utilization taking a dip. Only use him as a No. 3 or injury replacement this week.
WEAK PLAYS - WIDE RECEIVER
Drew Bennett, Tennessee Titans vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Titans may have their longest losing streak going (six games going back to the 2005 season), as they have looked ugly this season, but somebody has to catch the ball for them. It just so happens Bennett is that guy. In three games, Bennett is averaging 5.33 receptions, 78 yards and 0.33 touchdowns per game. He is posting those numbers on 11 targets (17 percent) per game this season. While his red zone targets aren't attractive (two total targets for 13 percent of the offense), you must remember the Titans haven't been in the red zone very often this season.
The Cowboys have done well defending against opposing wideouts this season. Though they have only played two games, they are still only allowing 11 receptions, 130 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game this season. That's good enough to warrant a player on a bad team, like Bennett, a weak play tag. However, Bennett is still useful as a No. 3 fantasy wideout.
Antonio Bryant, San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs
Just when you think Bryant was going to keep it rolling this season, he puts up four receptions for 36 yards and zero touchdowns last week. Even with that game, Bryant's numbers are pretty good - four receptions, 94 yards and 0.33 touchdowns per game. His 23.5 yards-per-reception average is among the best in the league. In looking at his 14 percent (8.33 targets per game) share of the offense, there is no doubt Bryant is the best receiving option for the Niners. He also has three targets (8.1 percent) in the red zone including one inside the 5.
The Chiefs are another team coming off their Bye week. Like the Cowboys, they have done extremely well against the position, even better. Wide receivers are only grabbing nine balls for 109 yards and zero touchdowns per game this season. Even if the 49ers are behind in this one and have to rely on the pass, Bryant will likely have a difficult time doing that. Use him only as your No. 3 fantasy receiver this week.
Derrick Mason, Baltimore Ravens vs. San Diego Chargers
The McNair-Mason connection for the Tennessee Titans helped fantasy owners win games for years. So it only seemed right that getting this band back together would pay off big dividends this season in Baltimore. So far, that really hasn't been the case. While Mason's 5.33 receptions and 76 yards per game aren't horrible, his goose egg in the touchdown department is. What is promising is his strong share of the offensive plays. Mason is averaging nine targets (14 percent) per game, with 1.67 targets in the red zone (14 percent) per game.
If you read our take on McNair versus the Chargers this week, keep that in mind as you read this. The Chargers are pummeling opposing wideouts to the tune of 7.5 receptions, 97 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game in two games this season. Those aren't too promising numbers for Mason and the rest of the pass-catching crew. Mason is at best a No. 3 fantasy wideout this week.
WEAK PLAY - TIGHT END
Todd Heap, Baltimore Ravens vs. San Diego Chargers
Most figured that Heap could expect more balls his way with new quarterback Steve McNair running the offense. Heap has gotten them, with five receptions, 33 yards and 0.67 scores per game, but he hasn't been much of a downfield threat yet because the team has been able to rely on the run.
The Chargers haven't allowed opponents to rely on much of anything in two games. To tight ends, for instance, they have given up just two catches and 31 yards per game in two contests. Heap is still a great player, but don't expect more than low-No. 1 production from him this week.
WEAK PLAY - PLACE KICKER
Josh Scobee, Jacksonville Jaguars at Washington Redskins
Scobee and the Jaguars haven't had the easiest schedule to begin a season; Scobee hasn't been the most accurate kicker in the biz. In three games he has attempted 2.33 field goals and 1.67 extra points per game. While hitting all his extra point attempts, he has only been good for 1.33 field goals per game.
Washington doesn't make Jacksonville's schedule get much easier. As far as Scobee is concerned, in three games the Redskins have given up 1.67 field goal attempts (1.33 field goals made) and 1.67 extra point attempts per game. Scobee is a very low No. 1 option this week, and you may consider benching him.
WEAK PLAY - DEFENSIVE TEAM
Indianapolis Colts at New York Jets
With a host of players, like defensive end Dwight Freeney and safety Bob Sanders, banged up, the Colts might not be as intimidating a defense as in '05. Without a convincing running game, the unit may find itself on the field longer, too. In three games the team has yielded 20 offensive points per game while recording 1.67 sacks and two turnovers per game.
The Jets have been a surprise on offense, for sure. With a hodgepodge running game led by a trade acquisition at running back, Kevan Barlow, and a reemerging quarterback in Chad Pennington directing the passing attack, this team has put up 21 offensive points per game. They've given up 2.33 sacks per game while turning the ball over just once per game. The Colts are a very low No. 1 this week and may only best serve you as a bye-week substitute

im glad im not the only one.
who do i play?
qb - alex smith (vs kc) , rex grossman (vs sea), phil rivers (vs bal), trent green (out)
wr - marvin harrison (vs nyj),
wr - chris chambers (vs houston) ,
rb - stephan jackson (vs detroit) ,
rb - frank gore (vs kc),
w/t - andre johnson (vs mia), laveraneus coles (vs indy) , plexiglass buress (bye)
w/r - michael robinson (vs kc), maurice jones-drew (vs was), thomas jones (vs sea)
k - rackers vs (atl)
def - ravens vs (sd)
the ones in the slot first are the current i have starting, but if anyone thinks i should play the backups behind them or move them around etc, please let me know, rex and phil are playing both seattle and bal and im not about to let a good defense give the chance my qb might be in the negative, so im trying to stay away from them. i figured i have it right, the guys im starting are playing the shittiest teams, kc, detroit, houston, so there should be the most points from them.

If I subbed my guys in, I would have won. It's pretty significant leaving out a QB and WR haha I lost only by 20 without two of the biggest psoitions filled in

Well, duh haha obviously the people I don't play don't count. But I'm saying..based on the points I would have gotten from those guys, I would have won.
Either way, how about the assraping that Adam got from that Weber Grills team?

so i have a rb/wr slot, and im going back and forth between starting Maroney vs cinci or D.Jackson vs Chi. Cinci run isnt that good so maroney should have a decent day, but alexander is out for seattle so theyll be passing more. Jackson has the better chance of getting in the end zone but hes going against Chi defense so theres also the chance that he gets completely shut down. Im about 60/40 right now towards starting Maroney

philly fans: should i start westbrook today?
and for everyone: i know this sounds absurd but should i start carr over palmer? he's playing a weaker defense and in the league where this is an issue, carr has more overall points.

It hurts when 3 of your starts are Giants on one team (Barber, Shockey, Eli).
There's a positive though. I put 5 bucks on 4 bets, (pays out 11x5=55 if I get all four right).
Dallas over Tennessee, spread covered (+10)
New Orleans over Carolina, New Orleans covered spread (+10)
Cleveland over Oakland, Cleveland is winning by 3 (spread is +3)
Seattle over Chicago, that's later tonight
I hope I can win 55 bucks so I can take a few days off from work :D

That is such horrible scoring, ugh. AP League 3 has the good scoring. 1 pt for each reception, 6 pts for a TD, and 1 pt per 10 yards, I think. It's way better. I'm sorry, but a TE who catches 1, 2 yard touchdown does not deserve the same amount of points as Donald Driver catching 8 passes for 120 yards with no TDs.
