Straylight Run (http://www.absolutepunk.net/straylightrun) have posted a new blog on their myspace. The big news: their new album has been recorded.
So I'm watching VH1 classic and Warrant's video for "Cherry Pie" is on. I was just flipping through MTV2 and Fuse and I can't help but notice that a lot of the bands on those channels have only slightly more musical integrity than Warrant did in their heyday. Mark my words, we are only a short while away from seeing the emo version of "Cherry Pie" hitting it big. Man, maybe we already have, who knows.
Anyway....our record is just about done being recorded and we're well on our way to racking up the longest list of nerdy instruments ever recorded by a rock band ever. I couldn't be happier though. I think that we're on to something. Either that or we've become too wrapped up in what we're doing to realize it's completely rediculous. Regardless of anything, recording this album has been my most enjoyable experience in the studio so far, and I know that we're making the exact record that we want to make. You can't ask for much more than that.
As Shaun said in his blog, the next step is mixing the album. I think this is what will really make or break the record and it's kind of scary that we don't know who's going to be in charge of it yet. But we do have lot's of options so that's a very good thing. So, in the next few weeks we should have someone mixing the record, and then a few weeks after that we'll most likely have a finished record on our hands. After that, all that's left is figuring out who's going to put out that record.... more to come on that.
