He Is Legend (http://www.myspace.com/heislegend) have posted a brand new song from their new album Suck Out The Poison on their MySpace (myspace.com/heislegend) page. Go listen to the new song "Dixie Wolf" before the album comes out on October 3rd.

hmmmm
not sure what to think about this album yet.
I'm liking it more than Mushroom River so far.
i will give you that it is better than mushroom river, but i'm thinking i probably don't like the direction he is legend has taken.

I think the change in vocal style is what's killing it for me a bit, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

His new vocals are worse than they originally were. They lost what little goodness they had.

:bluesad: I really didn't care too much for this song either, and only because of the vocals. However, I really do hope that either
A. Its because of a crappy stream
or
B. Their new cd will be just as diverse as IAH
No matter what, I seriously can't wait to hear China White II.

ill wait til i hear the whole cd before the let down parade comes out. i like the references to the old cd though.
People!!! Bands change their sound...get over it!!!!
Schuylar's vocals on this album have changed....get over it!!!
Obviously the last 3 songs they've released the vocals have been the same (new) style. If you don't like it then you probably won't like the whole album.

srsly...why should bands evolve anyways??? they should all just keep rereleasing the same CD over and over again with different names.

Just because a band's sound evolves doesn't automatically mean I have to enjoy the new direction they are taking. There are many times where a band has changed their sound for the better; however, there are just as many times where the evolution of their sound is for the worst.
And in He Is Legend's case, I don't really care for the new sound -- so far -- I still haven't heard the whole cd, and basing my judgment from 2 songs (are they including cape fear, making that 3, or was that just for the split?) would be irrational. They had a huge variety of musical styles on IAH, and that could be the case with this cd. If not, and it offers nothing I like, I will exercise the power I have as a consumer to tell HIL what I think about their cd -- namely, by not buying it.

Very well said. I, too, am not as big of a fan of the vocals on these songs compared to those on I Am Hollywood, as they don't seem as...raw, I suppose. I'm sure I'll still end up liking the album, though.

Okay, look at what the dude who I quoted said that made me respond that way, then what I said will make more sense. Just look at the way he worded it.
And no, Cape Fear is not on the CD.

Wow, what are people listening to? First, someone says that the new stuff isn't as dirty as IAH, now you're saying that the vocals are more raw on IAH. I must not have been listening to the right stuff this whole time. The new stuff is WAAAYYYY more dirty than IAH and the vocals are WAAAYYYY more raw than on IAH. That being said, IAH is amazing and I believe that this album will not disappoint and I hope they blow up with this.

I was just replying to that because I'm tired of the same bland arguement that a band changing their sound is always, unequivocally, no matter what, a good thing. I didn't mean to target you specifically, just use that as a basis to that general arguement.

It's cool, I double-posted as well lol.
I, by all means, agree with you that change is not always good but I definitely do not believe it was bad in this case. I'm not saying it's change for the better (yet) because I love IAH, but I still think it rocks and makes me jump around and play air guitar in my living room in front of my dad.

wow, i think the vocal's sound terrible on these new songs. I don't know what happened to this band, but they lost all of their spark. I loved I am Hollywood, but after these two songs, i don't even really want to hear the rest of the cd. completely disappointing.
More like sophomore fuckin' shredsesh, lol amirite?
I don't know, whatever, this CD is going to own, case closed.

Schuylar himself said that this album is going to be way more southern rock. I don't know what some of you were expecting. But all's good, everyone has their own opinion. And mine is that these new songs are awesome, and this album will probably kick total ass.

he is legend is becoming a band that musically backs up the what they have portrayed themselves to be since i am hollywood dropped. they were playing rock and roll saviors in support of a predominately screamo record. musical growth is a beautiful thing and i like his vocals much better this way. if you have enjoyed their live set any time in the past year, none of this should come as a surprise.

My personal gripe with these songs is not at all the southern feel to them, its the completely boring instrumentals and the vocals barely even sound like the same person (in a bad way). Those two points coupled with the fact that personally i think the production sounds like absolute crap make these songs a complete and utter dissapointment to me. I wasn't expecting the best album in the world from these guys, but i was at least expecting some creativity, considering that I am Hollywood was such a refreshing take on their type of music.

It would help if they actually showed up to any of the shows they were booked at in Toronto.. but then again sometimes it seems like too much to ask for some bands to take their job's seriously, especially when treating crossing the border as seriously as it should be.
