Sofia Coppola will be releasing her new film, Marie Antoinette, on October 20th. The soundtrack, whose tracklist was recently announced, comes out on October 10th and don't forget to watch the trailer (http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/marieantoinette/video/ma_trailer2_high.asx). For those of who teethed your musical identity on the Garden State soundtrack, hit puberty with this one. There were mixed reviews at Cannes, some thought it was good and some thought it was bad. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to it. On another note, Garden State was terrible

no way!
as an european i was lucky enough to see it in may in theaters and it's just great. the music's perfect. (the only critic on the film is that it's not close enough to history facts)

Really i's just a matter of opinion. It's just a shame that you both have such bad opinions.

the reason why it was booed because it is a french historical movie that takes its liberties on a lot of facts and was shown at cannes (france). they were offended that an american made a movie about french history as well.

her three films have all been hit or miss with a lot of people

The trailer was sitting around in theaters since February...the studios just didn't feel like they had a market for it at all.

In case you didn't see the trailer, it pretty much looked like a cross between Emma (with the time period/humor) and Evita (with the political context).

In all honesty it looked pretty bad.

take that for what its worth. it was booed at cannes because its a story about marie antoinette that doesn't show her the most respectable light. this is obviously going to upset a french audience. so that doesn't mean that the actual movie isn't good.

Looks like a killer soundtrack, and I'm gonna put on Loveless now.

it looks terrible. In the previews no one was speaking with any sort of a french accent. Kirsten Dunst is a terrible actress.

ok i'm french, i saw the movie and didn't get offended. stop assuming we're morons for everything :)
the only people talking french in the movie are the kids but a french accent would have been ridiculous anyway. and kirsten dunst is great.

I think the problem have with this movie is historical inaccuracies, but that was expected. I liked her two other movies, so I hope to like this one. I haven't heard anything about Kirsten Dunst being naked tho, so I'm guessing she didn't end up doing it....damn

I want to see it for the awesome 18th century gowns. I love those dresses that are three times as wide as your waist.
