I don't know a lot about employment law but I'm pretty sure that's illegal.
Ya that's what I thought but it seems like every day camp pays less than minimum wage. They probably get away with it by saying that you get tips and food so it adds up.

I got hired at a grocery store today, my starting pay is 7.40. Better than my old job, I made 7.25 at a fast food joint. Working fast food isn't worth it at all. I'd rather be broke all the time than work fast food again.

Yeah I started at $15 an hour last summer but it also began at 6 am...then I got a $1 raise because I had to start at 5:45 for the winter...now I start at 7 and still get $16. It's awesome.

I make $11.95 at best buy. I have a college degree and I've been looking for a job for 3 months. no one will hire entry level. FML.
be happy you made 11.95 an hour. i made 9 dollars an hour with 2 years of experience from circuit city ( i was making 10.50 an hour there) and they were so stingy about raises!
$9.05 an hour + random perks. and it's the easiest, funnest job ever.

seriously. having three jobs just made me spend more money on gas and food, so in reality i wasn't making much of a profit. back to one job again.
Just under $12.50/hr for my regular job. $150/hr though for my own business. I wish I could turn my own business into my regular job. Fuck.

Same. Should be more though, considering I've been working at the same place for almost three years, in a high-turnover rate position (customer service).
