Um, I wouldn't exactly say that they're underappreciated, gathering from their seemingly huge fanbase. Maybe not in the AP "scene", but they're definitely damn popular.

I actually would say that they are unappreciated, as many of the press blatantely ignore their influence. For example Korn are often cited as the forfathers of the new metal scene whereas deftones definately help form the scene and their work has transended scenes and dare i say it influenced many bands covered on this site FFAF, Saosin, Finch anyone?
