View Full Version : Ugghhh why am I so jealous?

I met this girl about six months ago (we've been dating for most of those six months).
Basically, she used to be a big party girl. I mean, I partied a lot, but never really prided myself on it. She's the type with tons of pictures to prove she was wasted that night, etc.. you know the type.
But you'd never tell from talking to her now. She's the sweetest girl ever. But I'll admit, I HATE the way she used to be. She had tons of guy friends and I know some of them she had things for and I just hate seeing pictures all the time to remind me of how she'd get drunk and party with them.
Now I know it sounds ridiculous... the pictures are over a year old and she swears she's not like that anymore but I can't help but feel like that's the girl she still is... I don't know, it's hard to explain I guess. Or maybe it's not that I think she's still like that, I just HATE that she was that girl before. The one who needed to take pictures each night so everyone would know she had a good time and probably hung all over her guy friends. Truth is, she's only slept with two guys (or so she says, but I honestly believe her) - two of her ex-boyfriends, which is much less than most girls I know at our age.
I probably didn't make much sense here and that's because I'm not even sure if I know what's wrong with me. I just hate her past and I know that sounds ridiculous, it makes me feel awful when I see pictures of how she used to be. I need my head checked. Does anyone else know the feeling? Probably not. Any advice is appreciated, however.

Get over it or move on, if she's not out being an idiot every night than it makes no difference.

Yeah dude, it's understandable that you didn't like that, but if she's straightened out you need to move on. It sounds like you are way too attached.

Yeah I probably am. I told you guys there was something wrong with me!
I understand what you're saying, I know I'm being ridiculous and irrational and there's not much of an explaination as to why I'm like that. It sucks, though.

I'm not the jealous type because i'm not the needy type. Trust your girl and if she screws you leave her. There's more fish in the sea, and we're too young to fall so hard so easily.

so basically you're saying your girlfriend used to be a slut but now she's not but you're scared that she still has those tendencies?
truth is people don't change, but if she's moving away from that sorta scene you have nothing to worry about anyway.

She is a whore dude, me and like five bros have all nailed that.
In all srsly, stop being a bitch. As every love film/soppy sitcom episode ever says "I don't care about all the mistakes I've made cos they've all led me to you" and then they all start crying and hugging or some shit. If was never that party girl, chances are you two would never have met.

I can't opine without photos.
So what's the problem here, her or the pictures?
Because you're going back and forth as to which is actually bothering you.
I can't opine without photos.

it sounds like she's reassured you more than once.
if it's the photos that bother you, ask her to take them down/put them away.
if it's a fear of her past resurfacing, you either have to suck it up and trust her, or get out before you both get hurt.
aimee<3
05/27/10, 12:09 PM
The past is the past. Leave it alone. She says she's not doing that anymore whats the problem?
And with the photos... Do you have any pictures that remind you of fun times? (Pictures of memories) Well what if she didn't like those pictures?
What if she was posting the samething you are about your photo's? How would you feel?
You are thinking to much about her past. It's kinda obvious that you don't trust her and that's not good for your relationship.

They are not both adjectives - how is "immediately" an adjective?

What you're implying is that I was using two adjectives to describe one noun, which needs to be separated by a comma. Which I didn't. "Immediately" is an adverb, used to describe the manner in which an adjective exists.

I love you guys. And thanks for calling me a bitch so many times.
But seriously, I need to chill the fuck out, and you guys are right. I just needed my head check. Truth is, shit from my past has caused me to have some trouble trusting people easily. And I understand that's not her fault and I shouldn't take it out on everyone else - but I'm only human. I have the right to make mistakes, too, right?
Looks like I need to stop being a bitch. I'm glad you talked some sense into me.

All I have to add to this is if you found a chick that's actually readily willing and able to stop being a party girl to be with you, you're a winner. Period. You keep glancing over your shoulder you're gonna trip and fuck things up. Things that ultimately sound like they're pretty good.

There is no point in being upset about the pictures. She was single, she was being a flirt. No harm in it, live it up. If she isn't even a partier anymore...why even care? You seem insecure.

She was young and everyone goes through phases. I understand exactly though. I still have a hard time that my bf was young and dumb when he was in his early twenties and made some stupid decisions. ie: get married just because. I can't fathom that the person he was before me was the person he is today. Just believe in her and you will overcome this.

Stop living in the past, put more of a focus on the current time and the future... so then in the future you can have a positive past.
