I'll never really understand why some bands go berserk in the mainstream and others falter. Even while on the same record label.

No joke. No disrespect to these guys, but I don't get what this band has that has got them to blow up

Sort of like asking why Hawthorne Heights has become so big. I don't have a problem with bands that do the pop-screamo thing, but yeah, I'll never really understand what they're doing better than other bands to be recognized moreso.
Over It's album is better than RJA's ten-fold, so I don't quite get it either.

I can't seem to get into this band, it may be my whole theory of they were an excuse for a major label to buy into the whole pop screamo thing. Other than that, Face Down is a catchy song, i catch myself listening and humming it all the time. Bastards... Congrats to them on writing a really catchy ass song.

I saw RJA in Atlanta cause they were playing on the same show as Amber Pacific, JS, Over It, This Day and Age and ATL.. (Lorene Drive and Monty and I?, I think was their name, also played) and I watched RJA, otherwise I probably would have never seen them. They were good, but nothing spectacular, nothing good enough to make me rush out and buy their CD. Their screamer reminded me too much of Casey from Hawthorne Heights. But everyone was going crazy for them. Just one of those bands I don't understand why everyone goes crazy for.
Even though it was their hometown, from what I hear, they're big in other cities too.

Its all about knowing the right people to say the right things about you to people who dont know what they want. Confusing yes...but if someone from a big band tells a 13 year old to like a smaller band, I promise the smaller band would get big...Fueled by Ramen bands...

RJA to me is really cookie cutter material that doesn't do more than average for me on any level. Their promotional blurb really goes too far to say they are something fresh new and exciting when all that is really different is their quirky name. I would have liked to have seen them on an indie label for a couple years, watch them hit their stride, become something new and then offer the mainstream something exciting.

Haha oh really? Oops. I heard someone say they were from ATL. Oh well.
Grrr that song on their purevolume used to be good when it was called Assshaker. That new version called In Fate's Hands is a slower more heavily produced version (THanks Virgin) with even worse screaming. I used to like that song. It's no longer ass shakable.
