Juterna really isn't that bad a record. I know people hate on it, but really, it's not such a bad album.

I expect it do be different because Ant has not stayed consistant between a single album.

I would fucking hope so, you're supposed to start writing for your next record right after you're done recording.

hell, August Burns Red already have 8 songs written for their next record and their last cd came out in January. Juturna came out last April or May(I forget).

i loved the album the second it touched my ear drums...granted I was a huge AG fan before that, but I seriously have nothing bad to say about juturna. every song was amazing.

Yes, but did ABR sell over 60,000 albums and go on countless tours? EVR put Circa out there for all they're worth which didn't give the band much time to do anything but tour and play.

On another note, have you heard these new ABR songs and just how good are they? It's gonna be tought to top Thrill Seeker, that cd was catchy as shit.

not necessarily. it's good to take some time off of writing to tour & whatnot. besides, not every band releases a new album each year. i would want to record new material when i go in to record, not stuff that might as well have been on the last record. you know.

I haven't listened to it enough to call it brilliant, but I do like it. Anthony is very talented, and I think this fits him better than Saosin ever did and, really, ever could.

Really? People didn't like Juturna? Hell, I fell in love with it.

Yeah, it receives its fair share of hatred, mainly on account of Anthony's vocals. Personally, I think his vokes are good. He can hit some massive notes, and like I said, this band seems like a better fit for his vocals than Saosin. Cove's vocals aren't quite as high-pitched, and fit that band more effectively. I enjoy both bands, but I need to listen to Juterna more to get a real opinion on it.

not 60,000 but they have gone on countless tours(not enough for people to get sick of them such as Circa though).

I haven't heard any new ABR songs but the new Circa songs might as well have been on Juturna because they haven't matured at all. But yeah I agree, it's going to be hard to top Thrill Seeker, however I have faith in them.

I understand that but we're talking like 3/4 of a year's release difference...there's gotta be a time when you say to yourself "I need to stop touring and start concentrating on the future of this band".

no my first was just saying, I would hope that they wrote new songs because Juturna had been out for so long, but I had heard a new song or two on their most recent tour with TREOS and Days Away.

i've only heard that one new song. though it wasnt much different from anything off Juturna, i dont realyl see that as a bad thing. Juturna was brilliant and in a class of its own. i dont see why you would to change too much of that.

News flash, bands make a very large percentage of their money on tour. They also gain a large majority of their fans by constantly touring, not just spitting out record after record. Secondly, how can you say Circa has not matured? At most, you've heard two new songs; one of which was acoustic and the other live so you can't make any basis off of those. "The future of a band" is based on touring. You usually gain more maturity and insight into music while touring with different bands which goes into the music. Most dedicated bands go on tour for a year or more at a time, so 3/4's of a year is actually a pretty short time.

No matter how much you like august burns red, that doesn't mean they are even in the same ball park as circa. I'm not a HUGE circa fan, but i can safely say that they are in a completely different league from august burns red. Circa aren't really big, but they are big enough to pull off headlining tours, ABR aren't. Circa don't have to jump straight in to recording a second cd because people already know who they are as a result of all the touring and stuff they have done since Juturna. Personally i'd rather a band wait in between releases, at least for a little while. Give themselves and their sound time to mature. Your post as a whole is just coming off as ABR fanboyism

Who cares, they're in completely different genres of music--there's not even singing in August Burns Red. It's ridiculous to compare the two bands.

An artist isn't supposed to do anything except be true to his art. If it takes a band longer to make a CD so be it.

I haven't heard anyone say that it is a bad album.. I think it is one of the best albums of 2005/2006.. Nothing that has come out has been any better... Every song on the cd is just amazing and the band has a sense of quality to it...

I can only hope this next cd goes beyond their limits and creates something even better

How can you even put a time limiti on touring... Some bands tour for a few years before even putting out an album.. Thats where the creativity come in... I think it would be pretty foolish for them to write an album tour for three months and then go in an write another album.. Albums are drawn off of experiences and other influences, you can't expect them to ready to write another album within that time frame...

THe bands that are the most successfull tour and take there time writing new albums... But I forgot, today's kids don't care about music... Thats why the majority of what is out is garbage...

Check out some of the greatest bands and look at the release dates on the back on the cd case... It took Trent Reznor like 5 years to write With Teeth after recording The Fragile...
