here's the latest thing i've written. still trying to break out of my writer's block. thoughts?

"For Better"
The sirens sang all night
And our beds felt more and more empty
With every hour we sat in them without sleep

We clipped our wings off
And embraced the wind rushing passed us
“Our flying feels more like falling”
And it’s backwards, like all of my thinking

The city turned on me

I am not alone
But the distance makes it feel that way
I’ve got motives and intentions
These are secrets
And sometimes I’m not sure how the two connect

I am no one in this traffic
I am lost in a city I never felt welcome in
Taking our medicine on time
(As prescribed)
Lately, I’ve just felt like I’m slipping away
Our lives are made up of the moments we waste
