my cats. It's the first time I've left them for ten days and as upset I am to go back home from an awesome fucking place and trip to the east coast for friends, I'm really fucking excited to see them at the end of today.
Is anyone else as crazy as me? Let's talk about how awesome our pets are.

Right? Yesterday my friends and I started talking about our pets and went on for like an hour. Some people just don't get it.

God they are. I don't really get the idea behind pet fish.

I loved my dog. The last time I saw her, she was being taken away in the back of some stranger's car because our yard was too small for an energetic golden retriever. I was sad.

haha i know. it's like 'hey you can talk about your kids, i'll talk about my 'kids'.'
since we're talking about them.. my one cat likes to hoard things. i have this hole in my wall(it is part of a shelving unit that looked into my room that i left there so my cats could get in and out when they please. its hard to explain.) and he will haul things through this fucking hole. im talking bags of marshmallows, fruit.. seriously i've found an apple and a few tomatoes. my mom's crocs! lol. the thing is he has to jump up and through, it's not like he's walking. it amuses the shit out of me. how he lifts these things boggles my mind.

your cat (yes, i totally creeped your profile) looks so much like the love of my life kitty I had named Buckley (after Jeff Buckley) who passed away a few years ago from a genetic disorder at the age of 4. He was the sweetest kitty in the world and I loved him more than anything.
I adore both my dogs (yet I do have a favorite, my Old English Sheepdog named Spike) but cats are so much calmer and less drama!! I would do anything for my animals though, anything.

Cute pictures in here! I need to go get some... I live all the stories too. I have so many animals: a beagle and three chihuahuas, a rabbit, a turtle, two inside cats and two outside cats. My rabbit is seriously awesome, she potty trained herself and a few months ago I taught her how to use the stairs in our house because I figured there's a whole half of the house she wasn't exploring.
It's funny cause she hops from little carpet rugs to more little carpet rugs straight over the hardwood floor. I like to think she's playing The Floor Is Lava.

my cat died a couple of years ago, still miss him sometimes. he was a little pwner. he used to drink out of the toilets and climb up on the table and lick up our food if we abandoned it for a moment. he would also climb up to my family at the dinner table begging for food...we'd give him some but he would lick it then walk away hahahah.
Not crazy. I hate leaving my cat any time. She looks so lonely and sad when I leave. I love coming home to her. She hears my car, jumps in the window, watches me walk to the door and open it, jumps out of the window, and meets me at the door. Clockwork.

My childhood pets:
I used to have five frogs: Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Shania Twain. Tim commited suicide along with my mentally unstable beta fish named Zaire Zorrilla. I actually watched Zaire die. He first swam up to the glass and clinked his head to see how hard it was. Then he swam as far back as possible and shot himself up to the glass and died instantly. I had a hermit crab named Carrots that I returned to the store the day after I bought him. The best was probably when I found a fly in my room and named him Jeffrey. He would fly as fast as he could around my room and every time that he went past my mirror, he'd zoom into it and make a loud fucking noise. I watched him do this about twenty times. I crushed a xanax with some sugar and water and put it out for him so that he'd relax. Yeah, it killed him.

That one is an F2, which means it's grandparent was an Asian Leopard Cat. They're normally sold as pets around the F3/F4 generation. F2s go for 3 grand. And you can definitely see the wild genes, totally different than any other kitten I've raised.

And the fifth?

This. Except in our cat's case, he was being humped by other boy cats every f'in mating season.
It was funny at first, but then it got REALLY disturbing. :-| can't believe we're quoting/talking about stuff like these, lol.
I used to have two Netherland dwarf bunnies. We thought we were getting two females when we got them but apparently it's pretty hard to accurately sex rabbits when they're babies so we ended up with two males. The black and tan bunny, Mercedes, turned out to be a gay rapist. He would violate poor little Berkeley, my reddish tan bunny, on practically an hourly basis. It was so bad for Berkeley that his fur was rubbed off his back from his roommate's offensive actions. The neighborhood children used to want to come by to see the rabbits once in a while but we had to ban them from coming over because we never knew what they might witness. We felt so bad for the rabbits and their miserable lives that we ended up letting them go in our yard where they stayed for 3 months without fencing, just enjoying life freely. After that our shitty neighbors complained that they were eating their plants and we had to give them away, but at least they went to separate places because no bunny should be subjected to daily rape.

shit THAT is disturbing. i wonder what animal experts would say about that.

That one is an F2, which means it's grandparent was an Asian Leopard Cat. They're normally sold as pets around the F3/F4 generation. F2s go for 3 grand. And you can definitely see the wild genes, totally different than any other kitten I've raised.
So you don't want a bond with your pets? That's an awfully expensive breed to invest in as "just a pet"!

Thank you!! Yeah, I got Spike after I had been out of college for a couple of years and rented a house. Once you get a big dog, it sort of dictates where you can live for the rest of your life, lol. I have had to rent/own houses ever since getting him because an apartment would just not work with such an energetic and large dog.

aww. that sucks about how she reacts to thunderstorms. I have heard a kind of funny trick that is supposed to work wonders for doggies who get scared of storms. Make a cape for her that clings to her back and put it on her when there's a storm. It makes the dogs feel safe, like they're being hugged and protected. This is one that you could buy but I think you could just as easily make one: http://www.stormdefender.com/

Not that I lack a bond whatsoever. But it is just a pet. I take care of it, I play with it, but I'm not forever attached to it. I'm not the only person who lives in the house, so I guess that has something to do with it. I'm not its sole source of attention. And yeah, bengal cats are pretty baller.

Haha, nah. If the cat and I were the sole occupants of an apartment or something, it would be different. And, yeah. If they get out, which mine constantly tries to do, they will either make a break for it, or be snatched up and sold.

it's fantastic that you were able to take him in after his owner died, i'm sure he's very grateful. i miss having cats so badly. my dogs are too rambunctious, they don't do well with kitties so i'm going to have to wait until they mellow out a lot before i attempt to get a cat or i can expect it to be dragged around the house on a daily basis, which i wouldn't wish on anyone.

Yeah, I remember when we first got him he would hide under the couch/bed and hiss whenever anyone came near him, and howl all night, because he missed his old owner. It was heartbreaking. I'm very glad that he got over it, and has been happy ever since :)
