Silent Movie Signs Rushmore Academy

Silent Movie Records (http://www.silentmovierecords.com) (Hit the Lights, I Am the Pilot) has signed Rushmore Academy (http://www.myspace.com/rushmoreacademy).
Rushmore Academy, founded in 2004, is comprised of Steve (Vocals, Guitar, Programming); Rocky (Guitar, Vocals); Craig (Keyboards, Vocals); Jason (Bass, Vocals); and Matt (Drums, Vocals). Having sold over 1,300 copies of their self-released debut EP with no distribution, Rushmore Academy is gaining momentum heading into their first proper release.

"We're all very excited to be a part of the Silent Movie family, even if Joe (Lemble, owner of the label) is smelly," said vocalist Steve Neske. "We find it charming and endearing."

The pop powerhouse plans to release their newly recorded EP, produced by Marc McClusky (Hit The Lights, Scenes From A Movie, Showoff), Nov. 21 on Silent Movie Records.

While effortlessly filling regional clubs with each show, the band plans to expand outward and continue touring the Midwest and surrounding regions, stealing hearts and fans along the way.

In the past the band has played with bands such as Rise Against, Flogging Molly, Steel Train, and Hit The Lights, amongst many others.

Toledo, OH-based Silent Movie Records has made its name by housing such acts as Hit The Lights, My Favorite Highway, The Weakend and I Am The Pilot, and is confident in adding Rushmore Academy to their respected roster.

"We are all very confident in the ability and talent that the Rushmore Academy possesses," says Silent Movie Records owner Joe Lemble. "We are looking forward to helping assist them in their career as a band and plan on serving as a stepping stone knowing that its only a matter of time until everyone else sees in this group of guys what we do – we are very pleased to call them friends and proud to call them family."

Expect more news regarding their Silent Movie debut within the next few weeks, until then you can check the band out online via MySpace where you can stream two new songs.
