umm... it's a two song 7", not a 2". some people refer to them as singles. punk bands tend to release them from time to time. weirdly enough, lifetime is a punk band. funny how that works.
i don't even know if most record players could even play a 2". i know spazz "released" a 1" record that was totally unplayable a few years back

Show me where you see anything about a 2inch vinyl. If youre going to try and put them down at least get it right.

I'm not puttin em down bro, I'm just saying...it seems a little gimmicky. usually you see the 7inches coming from lowly struggling punk bands not bands on Decaydence I mean c'mon you think we're gonna see like a Gym Class Heroes 7inch? fuck outta here.

there are still plenty of bands that put out 7 inches. shut up, dude. some of us still prefer record players, because most of the time, the sound quality kills that of a cd player.
and lifetime has been around since like 1992. they're punk. they can do whatever the fuck they want.

7" are more or less used as a collectible item anyways. Every band out there knows not every kid just so happens to have a record player or records for that matter. Also, who really cares if it's being released on a 7", it's going to be on iTunes which means it's also going to be up for downlaod on all those illeagal sites we all use so proudly.

thats kind of interesting cause nofx, against me! and the bronx (just to name a couple) have released tons of 7" and id hardly say they are "lowly struggling". sometimes they are just something fun to release for their fans who like to collect things.. and its not like its lifetimes first 7"

Seven inches aren't gimmicky, and Lifetime is a punk band. That's besides the point, vinyl is a suitable for any genre. Saying seven inches are only for punk bands is like saying CDs are only for techno groups; fucking ridiculous.

realize the ENTIRE record yes RECORD industry made music available on... what format first???
oh i get it RECORDS!
it's still in most peoples opinions the best format for any genre of music.
and the fact you can't find it on limewire or steal it off some shithead friend makes you hate it??
it's a 7" by one of the only bands i actually love.
get off the fact it's on decaydance. and who runs it.

Vinyl rocks, so do CDs.
Stop fighting.
All I will say is you can't make colored or marble CDs, and CDs have tiny cover art, and CDs don't sound as good a lot of the time (depends on the album!).
And that vinyl IS a current platform.

I can't wait!
And seriously, who gives a fuck what format they release it on. My parents have a record player, so I'm set.
