I went to the gap yesterday to buy some shit. There was this maaaaaaaaaaaad cute girl working. We chatted it up really briefly and she told me she was 3 yrs younger. Not a big deal....but yeah I guess I "planted the seed". I wanna go back to return something and also to ask her out. I went today again but she wasn't there. Should I keep going back everyday until I see her?

Gaps open on Memorial Day?
Nah you shouldn't keep going back. You should just go back now and camp your creepy ass outside the front of the store with a lawn chair and a fake mustache until she comes into work next Monday then say, "Oh fancy meeting you here." Meanwhile she can be thinking to herself, "Who the fuck is this guy, I talk to 200 strangers a day in this job."
Did you get her name? If so, the least stalkery thing you can do is ask people working there if they know her and what shifts she works.

Though grammatically wrong, this is incredibly right. Your "planted seed" was her "getting a commission".

Holy crap. I can NOT believe there is a thread about this. The same exact thing happened to my friend. Except it was American Eagle. He is infatuated with this cute girl there, who he claims "was diggin' him" (she asked if he needed help with a size...). Same situation. He keeps going back in to see if she's working. He ended up Facebook creeping her and saw that she is 3 years younger. (He's 21, she's 18). But he has no idea how to talk to this girl. I also just realized I don't have advice, just kind of thought it was a weird coincidence haha.

Fuck what everyone else has said. It's not creepy at all. Just have a peek in everyday (try not to get seen so that you aren't actually creeping everyday) and say hello and start speaking. At the end of the day, asking her out means that you won't be able to shop there (AWKWARRRRRRRRD) if she says no. So do it.

I mean it was a short conversation. Nothing too crazy. What would you think is the creepiest way I could go about this? haha
Go back into the store a week from when you first went, assuming she has regular shifts.
This is actually a really good idea. I used to work at a retail clothing store, and they tend to stick to regular shifts every week. Scheduling is usually just copy & pasting the previous week's days/hours.

it's really not about what you do.. it's how you do it. and unfortunately, part of it really just depends on how you look. if some sketchy looking guy started checking up on me, i might be weirded out. but if you look normal and charming, then hey, i'm all for it!
and someone said something about asking around when she works - yeeahh let's not do that. haha i agree that's a little too much..
i was at staples a few weeks ago and the same exact thing happened to me with this guy at the register. asked me about school, and we realized we were both psyc majors etc etc. it was a nice conversation and he was obviously interested...... because he asked for my facebook after ringing up my stuff. now that was kind of weird...
one more thing - about your conversation. ok don't take this the wrong way but she sounds like she was just being nice. maybe a little nicer to you than to other customers, but i wouldn't read much into it. but maybe it is enough to at least come back and have another conversation with her. :) i know girls can be hard to read/understand sometimes, but sometimes you'll know if she's even a little bit interested. (was she?)
Haha what a girl!
Totally agree though.
