no way....they butchered bury your head
It's definitely a fun album that I'll be picking up on Tuesday. For the curious, don't expect anything extraordinary, this isn't your "Translating the Name" Saosin. Yes, that's been said a million time, but I sincerely don't give a fuck. Listen to it for a good time.

They didn't want to record it anyway. Blame their label.
And everyone that loves/heard/downloaded this - BUY it when it comes out. I don't want to see another Acceptance fiasco! Record sales MATTER, and if you love it, support it.

just a question: they had "translating the name", right? then why is alt press advertising their new cd [via e-mail] as their debut album?

Yeah, this is pretty much amazing.
I'm hoping these three are a solid indication of the rest of the album.

the new album is amazing. period. even with the new "bury your head."
bury your head is the worst song on the cd but the cd is amazing...im gonna go buy it just to support these guys because they are amazing...i also want the deluxe dvd.
I'm actually liking the new Bury Your Head, it's the new version of Some Sense of Security that is semi-disappointing, I wish they didn't change the lyrics during the chorus, but the new version is still good. Overall great CD.

Well, I absolutely hated the black EP - and listened to it once before deleting it off my computer - so I like all of the new versions better.

I agree, the new versions are awesome although they take a few listens to get used to. "I Never Wanted To" is the song I can't stop listening to. I did get this by "cough cough," but I also did preorder the cd awhile ago so am looking forward to owning a legit copy in a week.
i know im gonna hear it. but this is nothing special.
if it wasnt the name saosin, this would be an album that no one really cared about. its ok but every song sounds so similar. half of it is just reworked demos/songs that fans of the band for a while(like me) have had.
And y do they still classify themselves as screamo? they were, but there is barely any screaming, if any on this album. it just seems like i have been waiting so long for this, but its not even that my high expectations haven't been met, they haven't even come close.

the only thing i'm not liking about these three songs so far, is how blatantly similar the beginnings of "voices" and "sleepers" are. tweedle deedly dee intro, POWER CHORDS!! that is my only complaint. the songs sound good

It's the band's fault because you download their demos? That's not fair. You did this to yourself.
Where do THEY classify themselves as anything? I've never heard of a single band going around shaking hands and saying, "Hi, I'm Joe Blow, I play in a prog-rock band."

It's not their fault we have the demos of the songs already. Why would they scratch songs they've been working on, to make completely different songs because early demos leaked?

99.5% sure the band doesn't run their myspace page.

Hahaha, you're a tool and obviously not very inteligent. Bands use those "bland" genre's labling the band they are on myspace for organization. When an individual who loves screamo bands (using the word lightly) like Senses Fail, As Cities Burn, Underoath, etc... the band Saosin will come up to help Saosin attract new fans who might be partial to their sound.

I'll back you up with the other .5% on that one ;)
i understand that they want to be classified whit that type of music but its jsut not them. whatever
and i think they band has some (maybe that .5 percent) of pull on their site. again i dont care that much. i just think that they were a screamo band, but now that everyone is basically saying they are a "new" band, they should drop that label

ya it has a new sound different from alot of other bands, in a way, but all twelve tracks have that same feel. like mentioned before, how sleepers and voices sound so similar in the beginings

It's not because there's no screaming that people aren't into it, it's that a lot of songs sound similar and the lyrics are weak.

The lyrics are amazing i think. Easily one of the best records of 2006. The album seems well ahead of its time with all the crappy emo/screamo bands around now.

I have to disagree that they butchered "Bury Your Head" The new "Bury Your Head" is just as good if not better than the old one. The only thing worth picking on with the new version is the back up vocals in the chorus. They have some werid but more importantly unnecessary effect on them.
As far as the rest of the album, it is flawless. Saosin fans are beeing introduced to a new/better/cleaner sound. Between Cove's vocals and the amazing drumming, I don't see how anyone could say this is anything less than perfect.

I LOVE the fact that there is no screaming. Screaming doesnt have a place in this kind of music IMO.
I think that they are all indiviually really talented, but, those three songs run together as if they were just one continuous song. I wouldnt buy it. Those damn vocals are so anoooooooying. This genre is becoming like country music, where every singer sounds the same.
The drum production is great though.

I think it's weird that all these people are now taking Saosin's side. About 6 months ago (or a little longer) everybody was hating on them on this website. It doesn't make any sense.
I will probably pick this up, but I just found it weird and stupid that the same people that were crapping all over this band are the same ones praising them now.

The album is awesome i love listening to it.. I def plan to buy it but even if I dont, I dont think you will have an acceptance problem. Saosin leaked 2 weeks before the release date... Acceptance leaked oh 9-10 months before.. I love acceptance that was such a shame, we all know the album was amazing and if it was not leaked that early I believe they would have been huge.. That cd is amazing.. I gave out 6 copies to different people and the loved it..

i never down load or burn albums....i'd much rather buy a band c.d. and support them instead of stealing from them and i like it the old fashioned way....but the c.d. tear open the packaging and savour that new c.d. smell.

I didn't download the leak, I'm holding out til next Tuesday to hear it in it's entirety (sp?) The only songs I've heard are the 3-4 that have leaked. I would usually download the leak and buy the album, but I've missed the feeling of hearing the album when you actually buy it. I didn't download the NFG leak and it was great hearing the songs for the first time on my car ride home from the record store
Oh by the way, I downloaded the Phantoms when it leaked, and still bought the actual copy when it was released. Turned out to be my favorite album of '05

Like the EP wasn't like that. Three of the songs had the same exact chord progession out of 5 songs. I was super surpised when I heard these songs because they actually sounded slightly different, I think it's Cove. His melodies are totally wierd, like really unpredictable. Sounds good, I'll get this for sure.

because they released a solid album that finally shut everyone the fuck up. in my opinion, anthony-era saosin should be considered dead, as it is a completely different band. cove and the rest of saosin definately took a long ass time, but in the end, the product delivered.
i'm positive i've seen a good 20 people on this site who didn't even like saosin before, and are fans now.
