Why, if Siren on the 101 is the single, would they not put it up for streaming on MySpace? I've loved Over It for years, so it doesnt make a difference to me, but for new fans wouldnt they want to push the single by allowing new fans to hear it on MySpace, add it to their profile, etc?

As much as I love Over It and everything they've done...what the hell are they thinking?! Re-recording the first single off their previous album and releasing as the single again for the new album? Does this actually make sense to anyone? The old one was flawless and needed nothing else. The old version was better, as was the old video by a mile. Whatever. I hope this seemingly asinine move helps them. They deserve to be big.

this shit happens ALL THE FUCKIN TIME, get the fuck "over it" when a band signs on to a major label sometimes they will put songs from a previous album on the new one, if its something that they arent going to re-release. so this is virgins way of getting siren on the 101 out to a lot more people than lobster without re-releasing silverstrand. so shut the fuck up, im sure no one cares what you personally think anyway.

besides, this song is great, and could be a huge hit, ya you know about it, but there is more out there than just absolutepunk.net kids, there are millions of kids around the world who listen to music that dont come on this site. sometimes labels and bands have to think about the big picture, not just what some douche bag will state on a message board.

and stating that the old video is better is just plain stupid, i do like the old video but its not better than this one, plus they added a member so OGren has to be in the mix

but do you also think black and white tvs are better than color? or that a casset player is better than an ipod? come on man ur kidding me with this right?

Label/INdustry politics, the 4th quarter is not the best time to push new bands. Blame xmas.

You're totally missing my point. Which was that the album is solid enough without Siren that it didn't need to be on it. Over half the songs on it would have made a good single. And not everything new is better, but thanks for patronizing me. The old video was better because it was original, had a cool dark tone, the lighting effects were stunning, I could go on and on. The new video was a bunch of BMX bikes flying around like every other PopPunk video in existence. And since when do I have to take into account everyone in the country when I voice MY opinion. I was stating what I thought about the news. Frankly, I don't care what anyone thinks about my opinion either, but I thought I'd clarify since you obviously mistook me. And that's all I'm saying on the matter.

What other poppunk video has BMX bikes in it?

They did it because it's clearly a single-worthy-song ... like when NFG re-did "Hit or Miss" back in the day. That's just how labels do things, they have this crazy idea that turning a profit is important. ;)

Didn't that Pink video and the video for Fat Lip have motocross in them? Eh. Whatever. Looks similar. I think it looks cool.

i was so sad when i saw this video. i've liked this band for a long time and they write pretty decent music. but this video is sooooo cheezy. lost my hope that these guys would be big. not a bad record though.

People don't seem to understand the record industry's politics, but it's okay. It's only been said a million and a half times already on this site by Jason, and it makes sense. If your record contains a single-worthy song, why not re-record it for your major-label album so you can push the single and make some new fans? I dunno...seems pretty smart to me.

I think the video is good, and very fun. So far, both videos for this song have been great. Come early next year, I can see Over It becoming big - kind of like how it took Cartel a while to get "Honestly" played on MTV, because the album was originally released this time last year. Over It has hook-ups with good tours, so I'm not worried about them at all.

Yeah dude. Look at her hair and her clothes! Pretty punk to me! And that attitude. Awesome.

Okay. That's all a lie. Tate got me. He wins. Tate 1 - London 0 (a running theme in my life).

Love you guys. Bring in some Scott Culver magic on the next video! The man is a visual magician!

This video is awesome! WAAAAY better than the old Siren video. The song is a little too long though, I would have hoped they would have cut it down a bit in the new version, the song gets boring by the end.

Last quarter of the year isn't good for indies, but this is on VIRGIN, the last quarter is the ideal time for a major to push for sales during xmas. There is no reason why they are waiting until Jan to push Over It . It is totally LAME! But not as lame as OI going on a 5 band tour that will have 100-150 kids at every show.

So to clear any confusion up the video is based off the 80s movie rad....in regards to siren being the single it was completely underappreciated for how great of a song it was and I agree with virgin. The mainstream public will eat this shit up and I don't see how it's even a question of which video is better.

This video is NOT lame people. However I realize that most of you are probably still in high school and have no idea that the video is obviously a spin on the movie "RAD". For those of you who have never seen this movie do your best to find it you wont be dissapointed.

i can sorta see why the 4th quarter is a bad time to push music. for me personally, i dont really listen to a whole lot of new music when school is starting. i just feel like listening to old favorites. i know it's kind of a weird habit. it just seems to make good business sense to wait till january.
