some of my fantasy teams are being carried by players that arent exactly household names. so that got me to thinking...who do you all think has had the best season that hasnt been reported much? poll coming....
xbrokendownx

it was hard picking between ibanez and ramirez even though they both play for losing teams theyre having stellar seasons.

I went with Aramis.
In all honesty the best season not reported as a good one is A-rod's lol.

Aramis Ramirez will be a Phillie next season

I was actually going to say A-Rod. It escapes me how they can shit on him when he's having that good of a year.

That'd be nice. He and Rollins were talking alot, but we'll see. He has to decline his option first.

One of the worst Pirates trades in the last 10 years. And there's been some bad ones. Aramis Ramirez. We need him back.

i went with ibanez cuz i have him and right now i am in the finals.
go raul ibanez.
I picked Sanchez for the fact he plays on the Pirartes and put up good numbers

They wouldnt pay him, tell the fucking front office that signs Joe Randa for $5 million.

garret atkins. dude is having an excellent season and nobody on the east coast ever hears about him.
cuddyer has been my most productive pickup out of this group, fantasy wise though. i jumped on that bandwagon early and it paid off.

Bill Hall, he has 32 homeruns and pretty much the rest of his hits are for extra bases. He only has 76 rbi because he was batting behind Carlos Lee most of the year. His average is low though .260 but he is still awesome.

bill hall was awesome for a few months, but hes way too inconsistent.

It was 4 million for Randa and the trade happened years ago before they started committing to players who performed. Unfortunately that committment has come a few years too late.
Funny how Aramis Ramirez is going under the radar. The cubs are certainly paying him like a superstar. $11 million this year?
adkins or holliday...they are so underrated and colorado's new shortstop troy tulowitzki is gonna be real good...the NL West is so undpredictable every year that i wouldnt be surprised if the rockies were in the postseason at least once in the next 5 years

Ray Durham is having a good season, actually. He's not a typical 20HR/100RBI guy and he's putting up good numbers. He has career highs in HR's and RBI's, plus he's got his second best BA in his career this year.
bigmike
09/22/06, 04:15 PM
wayyyy too hard to pick just one. Durham sticks out because he get's no pub for having as good of a season, if not a better one, than chase utley (note: I haven't looked at the numbers if a couple of weeks, though).
also, JJ Putz is right up there for stud closers this year, too.

But now they aren't. Well, technically they are because I just got eliminated in the semifinals of the playoffs.

Cuddyer needed a vote, so I went with him. He has been great this year, but I feel like nobody knows who he is. He is over-shadowed by Morneau and Mauer.

man this year, the twins hitting has been good.
i picked atkins, but IS RAY DURHAM SERIOUSLY DOING THAT WELL? WE NEED TO ABOLISH THE NATIONAL LEAGUE RIGHT NOW. THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS.
also aramis and carlos are househould names.
in which i mean they put up those numbers every year

Alright, I guess he's not really too underrated, but I'm impressed with his numbers.
Hey Guys What About David Ortiz, He Sure Is Underrated, He's Having A Great Year!!!
And What About Albert Pujols, Man You Never Hear Anything About That Guy.
Roger Clemens Is Putting Up Great Numbers Out Of Nowhere Too This Year!!

When Torri Hunter is on sportcenter, its not because of his batting, it is because he made a sweet catch. He is known for his glove, not his bat. But in the last two months, he has been on fire at the plate, and as far as I can tell, he hasn't been getting a whole lot of credit for it.
have you guys heard of this derrick jeeter guy? i'm not sure if i have the spelling right, but he seems like he's having a great year too! .338 Avg. 14 HR 95 RBIS

he's been putting up those kind of offensive numbers since 2001
bigal00004

last year he had 14 HR and 56 rbi, the year before, he had 23 HR and 81 rbi.
it seems like whever the term "underrated" is thrown around, people start talking about their favorite players and shit gets retarded.
bigal00004
09/23/06, 01:42 PM
He's not even my favorite player. Like I said, I just mentioned him because the Twins hitting was mentioned, and he has impressed me a lot lately.

gosh maybe it was cause he was hurt

He has a commercial highlighting his defense. The last two months he's had an obp of .301 on August and .330 this month. If anything its been September, not August that has him on fire. His best month of by far May. .402 obp, .505 slg.

yeah his avg isn't great, but he has been hitting lots of HR, thats about it. He's obviously not the most underrated player, and all those guys in the poll are more underrated.

Cuddyer and Ibanez are on my team. I love Cuddyer because he has 1B,2B,3B, OF eligibility in my league.
I had Aramis Ramirez back in April/May but dropped him while he was still batting around .200. Big mistake.
