i dont watch too much hockey, im more of a basketball person, but i dont know how you can say theyre not championship material with all theyve done this post season.

the conne smythe is for the whole playoffs not just the last round and after that I don't know how you can say he didn't deserve it.

im not a fan of either team, but i was cheering for the devils. so im happy they won. im a red wings fan, but i do give the ducks lots of credit....not to mention they did sweep my team (the defending stanley cup champions) in the first round of the playoffs. but im still happy new jersey won.

giguere carried his 7th seed team to game 7 of the finals. he raped the 1st and 2nd place teams. broduer played like shit. the two overtime goals were both his fault. nearly every goal scored on him was in the exact same place.
the award goes to the most valuable player of the playoffs, not the finals. had it not been for giguere the ducks would have been swept in the first round. if you can honestly say he didnt deserve it, you are dumb as shit.

Ok I watch hockey, constantly, its my favorite sport ever. Ive been watching all the playoff games i can and reg. season as well.

Im from NY so I get Devil games..... AND to say that Brodeur is better than Giguere is not the smartest of statements.

True......Martin DID get those all those shutouts, But Did you look at his team and Defense?!??!

Dont get me wrong, I think Brodeur is a GREAT goalie, but come on, how many rebound did he get? None, How Many men in front of the net? Most of the time, NONE. Why? Because his team back checked and his defense cleared the net. Giguere had NO ONE for the playoffs to protect him or the net. Did you see how many Odd man rushes there were? Too many to count. It was rediculous... Ducks need to get some Defense, they have Steve Thomas and Adam Oates who yeah played good but are too slow to back check, and have Paul Karaya who as a player I love cause he is what hockey is all about but hes not big enough to take on players like Frisen and Langdenburner, and Madden who are alot bigger in mass and size than him.

I was honestly hoping and wishing the Ducks would win cause I cant stand the Devils, (even though they took out the Stars and I like the Stars). But they had a hell of a season.. All Ducks fans should be proud and it was a great Season.

Ok, you can go ahead and say you want the Ducks to win, but to say that they deserved to win? They only won three games, the Devils won four. Furthermore, two of the Ducks' wins were in OT, while the Devils dominated in their wins. It's pretty clear who deserved to win.

Honestly, I dont see what Giguere has that everyone thinks he's so good. I wanted the Ducks and all, but all he really does is get in the way of the puck. RARELY does he control a rebound, and if he does, it just happened to bounce off him to his teammate. He doesn't have the control Brodeur has to make a play off the shot with his blocker or somethng like that. The NHL really needs to restrict the size of equipment for goalies, it would separate the guys with true raw talent.

No fucking way dude! Are you serious, Giguere was the star of the finals. And you NJ fans have to admit that some of those goals that put past Giguere were lucky. And some just plain flukes. Also Martin has years more experience than J-S. The whole team does. And that can be what it all comes down to.


My top 3 favorite moments of the Finals
1) Brodeur dropping his stick and letting a goal in that wasn't even on net. (That's right NJ fans. Shut up.)
2) Kariya's goal. I didn't think he could walk after that. I feared Paralysis.
3) Thomas and Sykora's faceoff goals against brodeur on the glove side. I thought they had found a complete weakness in otherwise a solid goalie.


But the player of the finals, I can admit(Even though i've never hated a team as much or for such a long time) is Jeff Friesen. He won it for them and got them past Ottawa.
