For female fronted bands

Do you get into female fronted bands simply because you think the member is hot or do you listen to the bands for their music?

I think that most of the female fronted bands I like are actually good.
Paramore, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, She & Him, Rilo Kiley, Metric, and plenty of others

The girls just also happen to all be attractive. In some cases their persona makes them more attractive too (specifically Karen O's). Also, girls with good singing voices are automatically just cuter to me.

Do they all have an attractive fronting female? Yes, but when I first got into those bands I didn't know they were attractive beforehand. Well, except She & Him but their music is still great.

It could easily be argued that having an attractive front female singer is important for a band to take off. Unlike most male fronted bands, the looks of the singer really does matter in order for them to be successful. However, I doubt anyone is going to seriously listen to a bands music and enjoy it more just because the girl in the band is hot.

Honestly, I could care less if a girl in a band is pretty (I don't find Karen O attractive at all but I enjoy the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs). Good music is good music. If they happen to be good looking it's an added bonus, but I don't base my enjoyment off of their looks.

I have around 550 bands on my iPod, of which 95% is 523 (rounded up, of course). That leaves around 27 bands of which I do know their looks. Taking a quick scroll through my iPod, I'd say that's about right, though, just for kicks, I'd take it to maybe 90%. Just in case, ya know?

I never really pay attention to what anyone in a band looks like, but if I get REALLY into their
music, I'll start getting curious about who's behind the music magic. And THEN I google the
band members and see who they are, haha. Male fronted bands, teenage male fronted bands,
are more prone to little girls screaming their hearts out even if their music is shitty, just because
the singer is hot.

And I'm sad no one mentioned Tegan and Sara, I love them :) And Meg & Dia.

I think the only "female fronted band" I listen to is Crystal Castles, & I like them for their music.
