after the breakup, who do you think released a better album?
Straylight Run's Self Titled or Taking Back Sunday's "Where You Want To Be"?

this doesn't belong here but i'll still respond to it.
"where you want to be" was absolute shit.
straylight run's s/t was actually entertaining.

"where you want to be" was absolute shit.
Wrong.
TBS. Where You Want to Be was a more mature album with some absolutely amazing songs (Decade, Slowdance, 180) and a bunch of really good ones. The band grew up from emo one liners and pop-punk sensibilities.

i really like where you want to be and straylight's s/t. i know a lot of people like the old tbs better, i actually like the new and the old. as far as which one is better i'm not so sure. they both have a totally different mood. i would probably have to go with straylight though, cause i listen to it more.

you should have added a poll so we can keep track of peoples votes.
but for me: i luvvvv tbs and cant stand straylight run. i listened to a couple of the SR songs and i thought they were bland. the tbs songs; photograph is proof, a decade under, slow dance and a little devotion are inspired. best emo tracks ever.

i read it. nobody follows it.
next time ill put it somewhere else, but look at the topics. tbs and straylight run are more emo that plain white ts, panic! at the disco, boys like girls, all of which are in this forum, so go yell at them

Nope. There's nothing emo about taking back sunday and straylight run, as there's nothing emo about the other bands you mentioned. It clearly says in the sticky..
With that being said, emo/screamo does not include the following bands:
(this is not to discredit any band in particular musically)
AFI, Alexisonfire, A Static Lullaby, Alkaline Trio, All-American Rejects, The Ataris, Brand New, Bright Eyes, Coheed and Cambria, The Early November, Emery, Fall Out Boy, Finch, From Autumn to Ashes, From First to Last, Funeral for a Friend, Hawthorne Heights, Matchbook Romance, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At the Disco, Saosin, Senses Fail, Silverstein, Something Corporate, The Starting Line, Story of the Year, Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Thrice, Thursday, or Yellowcard.
So, obviously you didn't read the sticky. Why didn't you? Everyone else did. That's why there are threads about Ampere, Circle Takes The Square, L'antietam and Pg.99. So how dare you say no one follows it. The only people who don't follow the sitcky are the ones who don't know about emo. I suggest you browse around this forum first, talk to the regulars and learn something before posting in here again and looking like a bigger idiot.

I most definately cant decide. TBS is on of my favorite groups, they started only a few towns away from me, but i like the feel with SR, i guess them being one band and splitting into two makes it kinda difficult for people because they feel like they have to choose one. well i choose both :) QS

Taking Back Sunday all the way. Not only was Where You Want to be awesome, but they then went major label to make another great CD (Louder Now for those of you that don't know because you suck)
