you know i loved GC's first album...i bought it on release day...i still love it. but they've definitly changed. i believe the money has corrupted them. it's too bad.

thats pretty fucked up, i mean i'm not really surprised, but that is totally shitty. The only problem i have with this is that he kinda sounds like an ex-girlfriend in that blog, but then again with the way he was aparantly treated he is allowed to bitch all he wants.

I'm not saying that he doesn't have grounds to complain, but according to my understanding, he wouldn't get royalties unless he contributed one of the three deciding factors of a song - melodies/lyrics/chord progression, therefore drumming alone would count for nothing, unless there was a contract to the contrary signed by those who contributed those things.
Also, is he upset because he signed the contract that screwed him out of everything? Or is he upset because they screwed him? If he signed the contract, he can't transfer responsibility.
I'm not trying to be negative, I'm sure he was mistreated, those were just two apparent contradictions that I saw.
Also, TSO seems like they should be big enough to get a drum endorsement or something. I know a lot of smaller bands that have pulled something like that off.

I can understand that. I would fight for my rights if I were him. Unless he signed a contract that gives GC the drumsets?? That would be messed up. I don't see why they don't just give him the drumsets.. I'm sure they're just laying around somewhere. I've got two sets in my house right now that we never use.

i was wondering the exact same thing
talk to this guy in person, it's hilarious. he stayed the night at my friends house and had nothing but bad things to say. I guess benji and joels dad never walked out on them, they got divorced and they lived down the street from them their whole child hood. they're nothing but a bunch of middle class brats that found a good cover story. Also he was part of the band otherwise he wouldn't of been an action figure, in posters, promo photos, and tv appearances where they talked. Even if he was just a fill in their guitar tech neil makes 5 grand a month just for tuning guitars and this guy recorded 2 cd's with them. they also sliced all of his drum tracks for "i just wanna live" from other songs because he refused to play on it. Plain and simple this guy got screwed out of tons of shit even if he was just a fill in.

This is exactly what I tried telling everyone on this site during a post two years ago or something...A buddy of mine from maryland when to the their highschool and said everything they talk about today (like how hard their childhood was, they didn't fit into high school..etc.) is all lies, benji was on the homecoming court, and if I remember right he got HC king, but he wont tell anyone that b/c that doesn't fit into the image lies they created. Also my buddy said he seen them at parties all the time before they were huge and benji would fuck any fat chick he could find if he was paid 25 dollars. So yeah, i believe everything their drummer says, and hopefully when a public relations response comes (and basically says nothing the drummer says is true) hopefully everyone will be smart enough to believe that its not really PR but a bunch of propaganda bullshit.

Chris Wilson played on the life and death cd or whatever it was (there was a rumor that Josh Freese came in later and retracked drums but I think it was just a rumor). He (Chris) joined the summer before the young and the hopeless record came out(Josh Freese did the drumming on that album) .
How he got the gig was Quinn from the Used was good friends with him and during the warped tour GC lost their drummer mid tour, so Quinn told gc about Chris and loaned Chris money to fly out to the Chicago show and his "audition" was the chicago warped tour show.
I think this only proves who in GC is in charge and it's not Billy or Paul. At the chicago warped tour, Chris was only considered a fill in by some of the members and that the band would audition people for the spot later.
As for the drumsets I'd imagine it's not as easy as hey can I have them back, it's not like getting your 50 cd's from an ex girlfriend. The record label most likely paid for them with tour support that is probably still being recouped and they don't have to give them back. As well if he did sign any contract that screwed him out of royalties, then most likely that contract screwed him out of anything tied to the band. Which is sad cause they are most likely just packed in a warehouse or something not being used.
Chris lasted longer in that band then I would have.

Yeah even if their father did leave them they were 16 when it happened. They've written so many songs about their dads and it's a great way to make money because 50% kids in the Western World have divoced parents.

I'm not shocked about the attitudes of the Madden twits - oops, twins. And I know that Billy and Paul are better than the band they are in, and really make what the band is, even if they do suck donkeys nuts. And I do not, for the life of me, see what they have to do with Over It and the Snakes On A Plane Soundtrack.
