How do you only have 160+ posts?

You've had at least that many stupid fucking (and usually rehashed) polls.

The Beatles...and it's not even close.

The results of this are pretty shocking to me thus far. Two fantastic groups, but I'll take The Beatles up against anyone ten times out of ten.

I like your final decision, but if you think Led Zep was one dimensional I don't think you've heard enough of their discography.

I own/have listened to all of it. Idk, maybe it's just because Robert Plant's voice and Jimmy Page's playing are so distinctive that a lot of their stuff blends together in my head.

make no mistake about it, led zeppelin has maybe the most diverse catalogue in music history. the only band that may have experimented with their sound more would be... well, the beatles.

two of the three best bands of all time. i couldn't choose. i'm leaning towards zeppelin, but i'm holding out for now.

love both bands but the beatles is the obvious choice here

I understand where you are coming from. Zep is quite good at blending multiple genres, making it more difficult to see individual styles over the whole unique sound they created as their own. Their sound pretty much runs the gamut though...rock (many styles of it), blues, folk, psych, funk...they experimented frequently.

Nailed it. Their usage and experimentation with studio recording was far and above greater than Zep's.

the fact that people even question this just tells you how very little people understand music history

my favorites always go radiohead, because i feel like they're the best group i listen to, then foo fighters, because they got me into music, and then its usually the band i've listened to most at the time. these days thats mewithoutYou.

Get ready to live haha

in a sweater poorly knit is one of the best songs ever. On YouTube you cab find videos of Jesse Lacey (brand new) on stage performing it with them. One of the most epic things I've ever seen.
