Yeah, totally. Glad I sold my DS when I did -- this thing will hopefully make permanent residence in my gaming library. My iPhone is the best handheld gaming device since the GBA, so I have high hopes for this sucker.

Unfortunately, it seems like it will suffer the same fate as Farcry 2...where the developer is only using the name to sell copies. I dont even think the character Max Payne is in this, judging from the location and pictures of the protagonist.

I was hoping for some cool games for Kinect, but all we got were Wii-styled mini games. Some of the features were cool to Kinect, but do I really give a shit about a virtual pet? Probably the biggest surprise to me was ESPN on Live. I thought was pretty cool. I think the Kinect will be cool when you have friends over, but that aside, it did not win me over at all that it will be the future of gaming.

you can stream games as well have your own replays, and I think there is more to it. I think that was the coolest aspect of the show.

NFS: Hot Pursuit remake has me excited. Criterion are an amazing developer and Hot Pursuit is my favourite from the series. Apart from that, the new MGS is looking pretty sweet, as well as the Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer. Kinect deserves a 'meh' from me.

Indeed. The trailer they showed on GTTV was awesome, but I want to see some of the other environments they have planned like the jungle one and the multiplayer especially. I also want more bigger maps like Pyrrus Rise and Salamun Market and more customisation with weapons and classes. Hopefully, there's co-op too.

In one of the promo pictures it looked like there was a secondary function on the weapon. Killzone has an interesting back story too, but they didn't really deliver on it. The setting for this one sounds promising with two Helghast leaders fighting for power. They need Visari back in some form even if it's a flashback. The intros have been amazing with with his voice over.

Some of it's coolest features (and judging by the games, only useful features) are voice control, controllerless menu navigating (think Minority Report)

The difference is, if you have a Wii, you have motion controls and what not that is included in the Wii. With Microsoft, you have to get the Xbox and then another $300 for Kinect for the same experience. I don't really understand how that's gunna broaden their audience and target casual gamers.

Sony's presentation, hands down, is the worst presentation I've seen in a long time. And Nintendo's last year was pretty pathetic. But Nintendo redeemed themselves, they had surprises that actually count as surprises. Sony had Twisted Metal and Portal 2 (which was expected). Nintendo can have my money now for the 3DS.

Let's not forget about Twisted Metal. The Move looked responsive, but there aren't any games that use it that scream "must buy." Also the problem with the Sony show was it just dragged on for too long.

Twisted Metal and Socom sold me for Sony haha I preferred Move's presentation to Kinect even though I'm more impressed by Kinect. The games are just HD wii updates for Kinect :-/ albeit more impressive.

You don't really have to be nostalgic to enjoy awesome games. I've seen a lot of people say it's based on nostalgia but some people just enjoy some good platformers. I was disappointed about KH too, that was one of the main things I wanted to see from Sony.

Really? We haven't even seen any game play footage. Nomura has been working on a ton of projects. I don't expect it to come out any time soon. FFXIII staff will be useless anyway. The Versus dev team will need to teach them how to make HD towns and a world map so it'll be delayed even more.

Nintendo did their homework over their past years of E3 failure and brought back their hardcore franchises. While it does satisfy gamer nostalgia, there was no new IP to really get me salivating.

Sony had a strong showing. Killzone 3 looks great, the Move looks like motion control done right. Gabe Newell showcasing Portal 2 was a real coup, Kevin Butler was hilarious, and getting a Move-compatible hi-def port of Dead Space: Extraction with Dead Space 2 is the icing on the cake for me. A lot of people are hating on Cole's character design on inFamous 2 but I think it shows more promise for characterisation. Sony also kept the cheese factor, awkwardness and technical gaffes down, unlike...

Microsoft. I just have to say, if you take away the screen, Kinect makes people look downright foolish. It's just not a gamer's device. The fitness and dance stuff looks cool (especially Dance Central, I could see myself doing that), but there's just no way I'm playing a driving game or shooter with it. For the hardcore, they only really had Metal Gear Solid: Rising. The rest was an eye-rolling extravaganza of family and casual fluff.

I really liked EA's showing. No glitz and glamour, just the games, as it should be. When that shelf came down for the 24-player demo of Medal of Honor, I think we all wet ourselves.

Ubisoft, WTF? Laser tag? McHale with his awful jokes? I have no idea... Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier look great though.

Konami I didn't watch, but I think the 'lowlight' reel on GameTrailers tells me everything I need to know.

I personally love old school platform games, so Nintendo sealed the deal with me. Nintendo certainly stepped their game up with the 3DS, as well as many surprises. Sony did pretty well showing Killzone, Twisted Metal, Portal 3, as well showing that the Move could work, but the drought of PSP games and lack of surprises hurt it, as well some aspects of the show that dragged on. As for Microsoft, games like Metal Gear Rising and Gears of War 3 impressed me, but while the Kinect looks like a cool piece of technology but the demonstration made the show seem like Nintendo 08. Overall, I'd give the over all show a B. There were cool things to the show, but there weren't enough surprises and must buys to make it legendary. Oh well. See you next year!

Ghoulies was mediocre, the Conker remake was laughable, and while I've heard semi-good things about Kameo, PD Zero, Viva Pinata, and BK, it's not the same as in the N64 days when they could be counted on for a stellar gaming experience at least once every year and sometimes twice if you wished upon a star.

I don't think any developer has made as many games that I enjoy in a ten or so year period as Rare has. I busted out DKC2 the other week and it's still as good as any modern videogame. Hopefully the new one developed by Nintendo is as good as the old ones
