Out of these, definitely McTernan. Hot Rod Circuit, The Movielife, The Graduate, Texas Is the Reason, the guy's done some of my favorite records.

Sturgis is a really good producer. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the others.

He usually sticks to the genre where a lot of their music sounds the same. He's a good producer. It's the bands that all sound the same.

Went with Sturgis cause he is really the only one I'm familiar with, also he has produced some of my favorite albums

Sprinkle! Cities is probably my favorite production on an album

None of the above: Matt Allison. For such a short list of albums the man brought us some of my favorite bands' records including The Romance of Helen Trent, Goddamnit (and the other amazing Trio albums), and Apathy and Exhaustion. This is more of a biased decision because I love some of these albums more than anything but that's what opinions are for.

I don't think I like one album Sturgis has done.
The only thing Matt Malpass did that I really appreciate is Illuminate by Lydia
The only work I like by Matt Goldman is the stuff he did with The Chariot
McTernan is awesome! Texas is the Reason, The Explosion, The Movielife, Hot Water Music, Thrice, The Red Tree...He did some really good stuff there.
Bendeth did an IMA Robot and a Clutch album I liked but I don't think he's done anything else I care for.

I voted McTernan. The only choice that wouldn't be insane.

i can understand that point of view, but you should listen to the last few records he has produced. and he uses the EXACT SAME production affects on oh. idk. 9/10 records he does.

it's disgusting. he like copy and pastes effects from one bands record to another bands record. it's pitiful.

yeah Sprinkle does a lot of solid work. sometimes not with the greatest bands in the world, but solid work regardless for sure.

Which albums should I listen to?
But you have to admit that he's improved a LOT. If you listen to the last two The Devil Wears Prada albums, the production on With Roots Above and Branches Below is so much better compared to Plagues.

And I'm looking through the list of albums he has produced. The two most recent albums that I can recognize are the new Attack Attack! and the Asking Alexandria albums. Not much originality coming from those bands anyway. I would have copied and pasted effects for those guys just to get them out of my studio sooner.

you're right. he does SUPER work with prada. i almost feel like it's because THEY are maning the board persay.

listen to:
attack attack! (new record)
we came as romans (to plant a seed)
before their eyes (basically any of those)

and i'm sure plenty more.
listen for:
VERY similar drum tones
VERY similar guitar tones
VERY similar programming parts
that swish sounds before a drum part

and name me a band aside from TDWP that he has produced where there was even something REMOTELY close to originality.

he thrives off of shitty bands, using shitty effects, making shitty albums that could be interchanged with each other. it's pathetic.
and what's even more pathetic is kids eat it UP.

God forbid kids NOT follow a trend.

Yeah, I'm looking through the discographies that he has produced. I agree that they're all pretty similar.
He's produced albums for Of Mice & Men and Mychildren Mybride, and I enjoy those albums. I'd say they somewhat stand out compared to the rest of the bands that he has produced.

I went with sprinkle....cities was amazing and his production for his own band is great...I don't like T&N new stuff as much as I like the old stuff...I'd say james paul wisner is awesome too (underoath, further seems forever, dashboard, twothirtyeight)...jamey king is great as well (btbam, beloved) and matt goldman is awesome

McTernan with Sprinkle as a close close second. On Letting Go and Cities are two of the best records I've ever heard.

easily matt goldman
-as cities burn - son i loved you, and come now sleep
-underoath - theyre only chasing safety, define great line, lost in the sound of seperation
-the chariot - everything is alive, everything is breathing, unsung, wars and rumors
-drop dead gorgeous - hot n heavy

I was very unaware that Joey Sturgis was considered on the same level as the rest of these guys. My vote's with Aaron Sprinkle.

HATE
I detest John Feldmann. Easily the worst producer. If I see his name on anything, I automatically do not touch it.

LOVE
Matt Malpass did this awesome record for this dude named Damion Suomi off Hopeless Records. Love it!

stugis gets a good sound out of some would be crappy bands, but i just cant support him because he uses the same drum samples for every single band he produces. its lazy production work, and actually counter productive for the genre of heavier music. it makes first time, or occasional listeners have a hard time telling which instrumentals are from which bands.
