The Brainerd area senator is running for re-election and facing new challenges after a dinner date with a gay porn star.
Residents in the Brainerd area were surprised to find out their senator had dinner with a porn star who goes by the name Brandon Wilde, Wilde's mother lives in the Brainerd area.
The porn star posted on Twitter about plans to dine with the senator.
The tweet exploded on the internet, going viral stirring up controversy.
Wilde told bloggers that Koering told him he wanted to get re-elected so he could fight to legalize gay marriage.
Koering denied an on camera interview, but denied the claim over the phone.
