i picked circa. even though blue sky noise was the first album of theirs i liked, i can't say i've ever listened to a full thrice album more than a few times. i loved dustin's solo album, though (hated anthony's haha).

As a huge fan of both bands, I would take any album that Circa has released and put them over any of Thrice's albums. I'm also taking into account as favorite having seen both bands live. Both bands put on great shows, but Circa Survive fucking destroys Thrice live.

Loved "Juturna", HATED HATED HATED HATED "On Letting Go", extremely underwhelmed by "Blue Sky Noise".

Loved "Identity Crisis", Loved "Illusion of Safety", "The Artist in the Ambulance" gives me a hard-on, "Vheissu" is fantastic although I missed the sound they had on "TAITA", honestly never listened to much of "Alchemy" although I LOVE Digital Sea and Firebreather is a great song too, "Beggars" is the album that finally made it ok IMO for them to ditch their heavier sound in favor of this newer sound of theirs. Thrice is about the only band to sound as different now as they did in their earlier days and me absolutely love it.

So in short, I went with Thrice. I don't get why everyone creams themselves over Circa Survive. Other than Juturna, their other 2 albums are very boring.

Lol, I will never understand this viewpoint. Everything before The Artist in The Ambulance sounds so generic to me. The last 3 albums are infinitely more interesting in my opinion. I think everything Circa has done tops everything before Artist, but not The Alchemy Index or Beggars.

Lol, I'm just sharing my opinion as well. I love Circa's live show, but Anthony is consistently flat live. You should listen to Thrice's Myspace Transmissions EP. It's pretty much flawless.
