They were fine without Pedro during the regular season, yes alot more is at stake but I think they'll be fine
This series depends on what kind of El Duque shows up. The one who has an era around 2.00 the past month or the one who had inconsistent starts of throwing a good game, then bad one, then good before that. Despite that, the mets will still win this series in 4 games.

That lowers my opinion on the Dodgers. I thought they might sweep the series with Penny. He's a significant loss.

Does anyone find it interesting that Chih-Kuo is getting the start over Tomko, Sele, and Hendrickson? I have never seen Chih-Kuo pitch, but it seems like I would want someone who is not a rookie to start if I could avoid it.

I'm gonna say the Mets win this one just out of respect, but I'm pulling for the Dodgers.
I've seen Kuo pitch out of the bullpen, he's got some sick stuff. Ridiculous K numbers out of the bullpen in the minors, he seems to have done pretty well as a starter so far. Still very weird to go with him. Penny being out/sucking is a huge blow to the Dodgers.

Can you honestly say you feel confident going into this series with the Dodgers? I know i would be a litle uneazy, especially with your two top starters out or banged up.

Yes, because Pedro was out for 2 months and we did just fine without him. His playoff experience is what we are going to miss the most, but he will still be there leading us on from the clubhouse. As far as El Duque goes, minus the last month and a half, he has been rather inconsistent with his starts, plus it might just be a minor injury so he still might pitch. If we go without him I am confident enough with Glavine, Trax, Maine, or whoever else we use in that role to get the job done. Plus, our hitting is far more superior than the Dodgers. I don't have the stats, but who's their best hitter??? Jeff Kent???? No threat at all.

They may not hit as many HRs, but in terms of Total Bases, the Dodgers are RIGHT there with the Mets. A very good hitting ballclub, 4th in the NL behind Philly, Atlanta, and the Mets.
The thing to note is that the Dodgers' offense is HOT, the most important thing. .801 OPS in September, (Mets had a .710 OPS in September), and the most important stat:
.954 OPS in the past 7 days. .954 AS A TEAM!!

I never thought the Mets would sweep. The Dodgers looked so good during the season, what the hell happened?
I hope they sweep tomorrow and then the Cards/Pads series goes 5 games so they can be worn out a little more.

I hope they sweep tommorow because:
A) Oilver Perez in Game 4 means they'll be back in Shea for Game 5.
B) Game 4 is scheduled for the same time as the Jets game Sunday.
C) I don't want Glavine to have to go on three days on Monday.
