good news. i hope they enjoy their break, which is very much deserved, and come back with another amazing album... when it's just that.

i know alot of people don't like them, but you can't deny their talent... or their ability to put on an amazing live show.

I'm not seeing what's news here... Huge bands always go years between major activity... Why work when you make cool millions each time you have a realease... You gotta have some time to spend that dough.

you guys are all idiots if you thought that Coldplay was going to take a 5 year hiatus. First off it only said that in both headlines which were both out of context. If you also read the article you would have read that they would take up to 5 years if needed. Meaning he was throwing a number up in the air. I think it was irresponsible for this site and every news outlet who reported on this falsely. Everyone needs to read articles and not headlines.

I was about to say, 5 years? Really? Bands that get so big and turn around to say "we're taking a long-ass break because we're so awesome, we need a breather" are cocks, and I like Coldplay a lot, so I am glad it's not as bad as I had originally thought.

Correction: best city in America. Chicago and Toronto come close, but they lack the beautiful people.

Besides, i wasn't bitter... just a bit let down. I don't hate Coldplay, per se, (hell... they are a better option than most of the mall rock out there), but having listened to their records and trying to get into them since most of my friends are (like most of this country, i guess), I just came to the realization that [in my opinion] there are better bands that could fill in the spot Coldplay sits in. So... a 10 year hiatus would be nice.

Coldplay is losing their touch. Parachutes was a great album, but after that, they've been going downhill.
