Thats what Mitch clem posted on nothingnice.com, and since he's the coolest guy i've never met, i believe him. Is it true tho?

I believe it too. Rancid is pretty big anyways, so it really doesn't matter. They will just be on mtv and the radio more, like The Ataris.

yeah its believable, but they're never going to make shitty music.

It makes me sad that after all they've done and said about staying on Epitaph that they'd sign some other label. Hm...oh well. I love Rancid no matter what label they're on. They own. I guess I just kinda liked the idea of them stayin on Ep.

just because a band is signed to a major label doesnt mean they make shitty music

well in the case of less than jake, it did. the distillers went to warner too, and i know they will still be good.

don't even start with me on less than jake dude, you know our opinions about their new music differ. so let's just leave it at that, i love it, you hate it. less than jake worked to get to where they are today. and im happy for them. they've evolved as a band and their sound has begun to change, it happens to the best of them.

rancid will always be good, like they said, no matter what label they're on

can't wait.

That's what they said about Alkaline trio and AFI. Both of which i think just released crap. But i'm still hoping for rancid. :(

bad religion signed to atlantic and they never sucked, but on the other hand rancid isn't bad religion. they kinda began a decline since ...wolves.

...and out come the wolves was a great album.

it had a few great songs, but it's the cd that they started losing their edge on.

Bad religion, glassjaw, and jawbreaker were the only bands that went to a major that i really loved. I mean i'll always love rancid and i hope the new record is a way they'll redeem themselves.

And Maybeoneday, i'm probably opiniated because i was never really a fan of AFI in the first place.

I love Rancid no matter what label, But if this CD sucks then they are gonna get more shit cause people are gonna blame it on the label.

I am not really a huge fan of Rancid, but some of their songs are enjoyable.

im glad they signed to a major label. why? because despite the fact that epitaph kicks all sorts of ass, record stores in small texas towns do not carry minor label punk rock cds.now i will be able to buy the new cd without driving 2two hours to the best buy in corpus.

kevin
06/14/03, 04:22 PM
Epitaph goes to basically every store. Where will it be available for you now?

Matthew
06/14/03, 04:25 PM
i do not see very many epitaph records where i live. if i do they are used cds in a bargain bin or a random cd thats been shelved for awhile. no new stuff anyway.

major label = local accesibility.

kevin
06/14/03, 04:26 PM
Local? Meaning Wal Mart or what?

Matthew
06/14/03, 04:29 PM
hastings, wal-mart, target, fye, etc. even the big chains taht do carry the labels get them really late. my fye still hasnt stocked 'process of belief' by bad religoon yet.

kevin
06/14/03, 04:31 PM
I find that hard to believe.

Matthew
06/14/03, 04:34 PM
if they do stock smaller bands they usually sell them out real fast and then never re-order. it really sucks. the fye is just a small store in our local mall. hastings, the store with the largest variety, didnt stock "full collapse" until late 2002. south texas sucks.

alright, if you were never a fan of AFI to begin with then that makes sense.
