The situations are more than just a little different.

First off... The the DL drummer didnt lose his arm, then go right back to playing the week after. He went through months/years of rehabilitation, a new drum set which included an additional foot pedal to take the place of his missing arm, and he often played with drum backing.

Travis on the other hand, broke his arm within the last week or so. You can't rationally expect him to start playing at 100% again, or to dapt so quickly to already new material on some kind of differnet set, even if "that guy from DL did it".

Thant being said, heres to a swift recovery.

Actually, I feel the saaaaaaaaame way. I bought 3 tickets to see them in Sacto without really rationalizing who would go with me or the "details" of getting there, and as apoor college student, blowing $100 on tickets is setting me back. So I almost hope I can get the tickets refunded and then get tickets for a rescheduled show at a more realistic date/place with a firm confirmation on who's going and paying their fair share :/

And maybe I'm selfish for almost hoping that it gets cancelled, but I think it's just as bad to those who are hoping he'll ignore doctor's orders and go on with the tour, anyway. One wrong move or lapse in judgement and he can do permanent damage to his arm, which is a worst nightmare for a professional musician! Plus, touring cross country isn't the wisest idea when you are rockin broken bones (even if you do have a plush tour bus). There's just too many things that could go wrong!

well, it did say that he initially hurt it during the video shoot... and played shows with it hurt and that is what did him in.. so it doesn't seem like a cover up. it is kinda like when you get sick but don't think you need to go to the doctor.. then it gets worse and you go.


my tickets are going on sale in 10 minutes... not sure what to do. i guess i'll buy them anyway and then hope they change the date. if they are really cancelling this altogehter, they should not even put these tickets for DC's show on sale today.

Theres a difference with learning how to play over time with one arm than just breaking your arm and having to play.. Face it, the tour is cancelled.. It is almost impossible to play the way Barker plays with one hand... For that matter, the drummer from Def Leppard also had special things for his feet that hit the drums...
