whatever makes them feel better i guess. hopefully they'll be able to keep doing as they please, the last cd was good.

also there was an article about Beck's numbers not counting in the UK because of some advantage they say because of the ability to customize the cd packaging.

Weren't they fucked somehow with 'Her Portrait In Black'? As in they wanted it to be on DGOY, but they couldn't because of the soundtrack?

they got paid to give the underworld soundtrack an exclusive track, with a music video too.

This is old news and a TERRIBLE choice. A band like Ateryu signing to Hollywood is suicide. They will push pop like Hillary Duff all day long but won't do shit for Atreyu.
We just wrote a big post about this.

isn't it like about time for those guys? i mean their 2004 record, the Curse went gold within 12 months, is probably close if not at least platinum by now. plus, their only getting mediocre producers. yeah, i know they had GGGarth (who is FAR beyone mediocre, thank you) but this Josh Abraham guy has like no prior credits to his name. i dunno, i'm not surprised, actually happy for these guys. congratulations, and i wonder if they still will have to be financially tied to Victory somehow, you know how that bastard feels about progressing acts on his label

as for the pushing pop comment above, i fear we might have the more screamy version of AFI on our hands here, especially if they accept writings from Goldfinger and GC like hilary did. we'll see Atreyu vids on TRL before too long...

first of all, im pretty sure Atreyu can write their own songs, considering their not 17 year old girls who cant play an instrument,

secondly, john feldman is not "goldfinger." feldman whores his production out to anyone with money these days.

Atreyu's last cd was fucking insane, def. best of 06. I t just sucks that they get type casted in to a scremo genre because they are on suck ass victory. There live show is one of the best I have scene in a long time. Hopefully hollywood doesnt fuck them and leave them with nothing, btw the new plain white t's is better than there last cd (i forgot the name) and I havent seen shit for promotion aside from this sight, although on my way home the other night i was changing cds and I did hear plain white t's and atreyu back to back on a rock station in Albany. So hopefuly atreyu gets the support they need.

How do you really know that? Im sure the guys arent complete idiots, they have a few albums under their belt with a great fanbase and im sure there were plenty of offers on the table. If there was a better one dont you think they would have signed that? Not trying to be dick, I just didnt really understand the comment. Hollywood might just really believe in them and went out on the limb more than other labels and offered them more, not just financially but overall support of them as a band and creative control. But if there ever is an atreyu/duff/gc tour you can repost this into that thread and I will have to dress up in a hillary duff tshirt and post my picture. Deal?

Agreed. Victory has lost 2 of it's biggest bands Hawthorne Heights and now Atreyu. If they loose Spitalfield and The Audition they will be hurting a lot

Victory did just pick up The Warriors. As long as the label doesn't screw with them too much, they'll have a good band to fall back on.

But yeah, I bet there's more to Victory's problems than we know about.

Good. I remember hearing about this back in, like, May, but cool to see it confirmed.

Every band that finds success on Victory (and is semi-good) should leave immediately. Not that Hollywood Records seems to be a whole lot better, but as long as they're happy.

I actually liked their last album quite a bit. Really the only Atreyu disc I'm into, though.
